This small City owned gallery has a series of shows throughout the year that are mostly well worth seeing. They solicit well known artists and curators and put on numerous shows in their various galleries as well as always having a single local artist in their Regions gallery. Open Free on AHA nights, the second Thursday of each month and inexpensive admission the rest of the time.

Although this museum is small and had limited physical space it had a show that was thought provoking. The theme of the current exhibition was Drawing. The graphics were unconventional, semi-abstract. Artists from Southern Massachusetts were featured.

This is a treat. So many things to see and the quality of the items is great. Also loved the gift shop. There were bargins there. The staff is helpful. Beautiful pattern and art glass.

I went with an old boyfriend and we had so much fun here! The downstairs where its childrens actual artwork everywhere is so cool. There was so much there and its actually interesting art not just messes on a canvas called "art" The paintings, sculptures and everything here was actually WORTH seeing! I would reccomend going here if you live around here or are visiting its worth it!

The NBAM was conceived in the mid-1990s to provide a museum quality venue for artists who work or studied on the South Coast. Exhibitions range from solo exhibitions by University of Massachusetts Dartmouth faculty such as Willoughby Elliott and Severin Haines (Swain School of Design alum) to national traveling exhibits such as the Maritime Artists Association. Educational activities are available for young children.

This is a hidden gem. The exhibits change but they are always enjoyable. This past summer the main focus was Audubon prints. This fall it is painter and photographers focused on the four seasons. The museum represents artists from around the world but specializes in many of the local artists in this burgeoning artist community. It is worth the trip. Don't miss the bank vault and the exhibits downstairs.
