Glad we took the time to see this building. It is magnificent. While there take a look at the smaller building across the street to the right of City Hall. It is also charming.

If you are visiting Fairhaven, New Bedford, or other areas on Buzzard's Bay, make time for the morning walking tour of Fairhaven with Christopher Richard, the Director of Tourism. Dressed in late 19th century garb, he gives a delightful history of the glory days of Fairhaven and the beautiful Town Hall and library, donated by oil baron Henry Huddleston Rogers. Tour takes about 90 minutes and is free ( no tipping even). Mr. Richard is perfect guide, knowledgable and wry. Stop by after the tour for a great lunch at the Pumpernickel Cafe.

City hall, a must see?? Yes! Wonderful architecture, stained glass windows. Be sure to see the 2nd floor auditorium as well.
