Make sure you make time to visit this house as it shows changes in the area homes over the years. Each room shows you a different time period. I am more interested in history, not antiques so this was a must see for me. My teenager enjoyed it too.

All the houses, museum and silver exhibit provide the same quality of information. It is all limited to short periods in all houses.

The Wells-Thorn House is one of the houses that is in the Historic Deerfield museum. it can be visited on its own for $5.00. You must take a tour. Tours are given on the hour (10-4) and last about 30-45 minutes. it is better to buy a one day admission for $12.00 and visit several of the Historic Deerfield buildings. It is best to become a member for a year -- $60.00 for two -- and visit all the houses as many times as you want for an entire year. it is impossible to visit all of Historic Deerfield in one day.All the restored houses of Historic Deerfield are gems. The Wells-Thorn House is unique in that each room is set up to represent a different year. You visit rooms from the early 1700's to the mid 1800's.
