    I checked into this overpriced dump at 11 pm and was greeted by a man who's personality was trumped by the carpet. He sent me to my room without going over anything. I still don't know what the room will cost as someone else booked it. He didn't even give me a map of the grounds or even an envelope with my keys in it with the number of my room written down. Just told me my room number and said it was down the hall. I got to my room on this brisk autumn night and the heat was off. It was 54 degrees in this grand, spacious, empty room. Great! It's going to take at least an hour now for the heat to make it comfortable. No worries, I'm hungry, I'll get a bite. Wrong. Not so much as a vending machine with a candy bar available at this hour. Well can you tell me what time and where (seeing as I have no map or information on anything here) you serve breakfast? There's a continental breakfast at 6:30 am "just past the lobby." So I can't even look forward to a hot breakfast. Just cereal, fruit and pastry. Whatever! Now I wake up at 6 am, I leave my room and walk towards the lobby where a new person with no social skills is now behind the desk but doesn't even greet me. As I'm walking across the lobby I realize the rooms on the other side are all dark. "Can I help you? There's nothing over there" the guy behind the registration desk finally speaks up in an accusatory manner. I tell him I'm looking for breakfast. 'Oh, you called last night? I didn't know your room was there. It's the other side of the lobby and it starts at 7.'Unbelievable. Any hotel I've ever stayed at, they instantly know what room you're in when you call down. This place is terrible. I can't wait to see what they charge for a stay at this prestigious country club resort. What a joke.

    I have stayed on site at the international before, but this review is solely for golf. I played the Oaks course on a beautiful fall day in New England and could not have enjoyed the experience any more. The Fasio layout was awesome and the course was in great condition. Pace of play was also very good as we never pushed into a group in front of us or were pushed from behind. Had a couple of drinks and a few flatbreads with the group in the restaurant and it was the perfect finish to a great day. I will return to the Oaks course.

    Was at the International for a wedding and was shocked not to find a pool. A self-described "resort" with no pool is simply not a resort - just call it a hotel. They have plenty of room for a pool as it is surrounded by nothing but woods. On the plus side the rooms were spacious, the service good and the food at the restaurant was tasty. Went up with 2 young children and they were bored to death - literally nothing for them to do. Could be saved with a pool, game room or even small putt putt course for kids - really anything.

    I booked this location for a corporate retreat. The locations/grounds were beautiful, the facility was inviting and the staff was amazing! Max and Becky at the front desk, were more than flexible with my group's last minute changes and requests. The same goes for Nicole and Spencer in the function room. They bent over backwards to make sure our setup was exactly what we wanted. Also, Susan was a pleasure to work with during the planning stages as well. Thank you for a great experience. My team will certainly be utilizing your services again in the future.

    Teen Challenge New England Marriage Retreat. The accommodations were excellent very spacious rooms. The sitting areas were big and comfortable. Food was fabulous! The staff was very accommodating! They went out of their way to make our stay very pleasant.

    We played the Oaks course on on June 21st, 2013 and it was pleasure. We got to the course a bit late because Google Maps sent us on a wild goose chase. We didn't get a chance to use the practice facilities. From the first hole I was happy with the money spend for the round. The course was in great shape and is a fun, tough test. Not a leaf was out of place on the course and the staff was very friendly. Special thanks goes out to Nathan who drove by to ask if we had any questions and was very welcoming when we told him we were visiting from NB. This was the first year of a friends golf trip and it will be hard to try other courses when we know The International is there.

    This review is strictly for The Oaks course. Based on reviews and word of mouth, I knew not to bother with a room.Overall, I would say my experience was poor despite the appealing course layout. Hype aside, this simply isn't a $140 experience. Maybe $60 would have earned it another star, but some of the faults are simply inexcusable at any price.Things that I expect to not see on a $100 course and most definitely not on a $140 course (mid-season price):* No starter, so that you get hit onto while waiting to hit your approach on the 1st* 100s of ball marks on greens* Bunkers that look like a marching band had been practicing in them* Sprinkler heads next to valve boxes next to more sprinkler heads located right where you may want to land your approach shot* Collection areas with valve boxes at the bottom* Cart girls who fire up their gas carts during your backswing* Greens that haven't been rolled...ever. For $140, I expect greens so fast that simply looking at my ball cross-eyed will send it 30ft.* Carts that aren't fully charged and have to be rescued during the round* Carts with GPS interlocks that disable forward motion while on a paved cart path because they erroneously detect that you are on a green, thereby forcing you to drive your cart in reverse for approximately 100 yards to get to the next hole* Tees that are less than perfect, even on Par 3s.* Driving range with only 8 mats for two courses, so no warm-up is possible* Cashiers that rudely inform you that the yardage books are $6 the moment you pick one up* Yardage books that cost $6 beyond the $140 access fee (hard to call it a "greens fee" since not much of it seemed to pay for the greens)* There is no drinking water on the course* Unlike almost every other golf course in the world, there is no food available at the turn and no signs indicating as such. Instead, you have to know to stop between 5 & 6 or 13 & 14Things I did like:* The layout was nice* Bunkers are generally positioned so that you have to approach the green from the air* Fairway bunkers are a nice twist that aren't on most New England courses* There was generally benefit to being able to put your ball on the right or left side of the fairway - but you didn't get crushed for ending up on the wrong side either* I think the elevation was generally well used
