La Salette Shine has the best light display I have ever seen. When you drive into the parking lot you are met with thousands of lights. There are usually a lot of people but it is worth the traffic that you get stuck in. Most buildings, trees, and walkways are lit up by the Christmas lights. They have food and hot chocolate for sale. When you walk around the property you feel like you are in a magical kingdom. If you want to entertain your young children for a while then definitely take a trip to La Salette. Just make sure that you dress in warm clothes.

Recently brought my extended family here, and we had a blast. Kids rode on the carousel and we all ate fried dough.

The overall good feeling of peace and love are still there after visiting there many times! I went on New Year's Day, a very cold and windy day, and was surprised to see so many people looking at the lights, bringing their kids, walking up the stairs near Our Lady of LaSalette, going to mass, etc. It's always nice to hear the Christmas music, see the lights, look at all the signs and exhibits. I got there a little late for the 5:30 mass that Father Pat said. But, there was a Christmas concert a little bit later. I lit a candle for my father who recently passed, and it was a very calm feeling being among so many people who were also there lighting lights for loved ones.

My wife and I decided to drive to the shrine a few days before Christmas after hearing about it from a few friends. We arrived about 10 minutes before the display was turned on. The parking lot was full and there were hundreds of people standing around in the darkness. Suddenly, all the Christmas lights came on at once....it was breathtaking. As we walked around the property we became like little kids once again. We were in awe of so many colored lights displayed in one small area. After about an hour of slowly walking around and gazing at the beautiful displays, we left for home with our hearts full of Christmas spirit! So much packed into an easy walkable area. Kids (and adults) will love it. It's free (donations accepted) and they have plenty of very clean restrooms and food and beverage is available along with spiritual support if needed.

Parking is challenging - we arrived just as the event opened and the lot was already packed. The light displays are on both sides of the property - left and right of chapel, visitors center and other main buildings. There's a path you walk around the rosary pond to the left as you look from the main entrance / parking lot toward the buildings and a separate path on the right side. There are outdoor booths to purchase hot cider, fried dough, meat pies and other fare. Also a carousel to the left. The chapel is beautiful modern architecture. Some of the lights are old fashioned others appear newer but all are charming and fun for children. There's a Christian there throughout, not surprising given this is a Catholic property. On the right side they include the symbols of other major religions. You can light a vigil candle in the main building for $5 and tour an overwhelming but intetesting little museum featuring nativity sets from around the world. There is no charge to enter but the church depends on this as a major fundraiser so donations are requested ... Though not at all aggressively. Worth a couple hour visit.

Visiting Lasalette should be every family's Christmas tradition! I don't recall hayrides in the past - they may have done so but I don't recall them - and that was a wonderful addition. Of course I purchased a meat pie for d inner later this weekend. And now they have Smores too! My children's favorite lights were the paintings in different languages declaring let Christ be our light, while mine was the lighted peace on earth sign followed by lights outlining the major religions (we aren't a religious family ). Really beautiful.Be sure to go early - we arrived before 5pm, the lights were not even turned on- and still had to park in the last parking lot. When we left two and a half hours later cars were backed up over a mile. Be sure to bring cash, while there are no admission fees, for hot chocolate, hot cider, doughboys, meat pies, hayrides, anything, only cash is accepted.

My parents took us every year at Christmas time.I have been back many times on my own.It is such a wonderful feeling, walking around looking at all the lights and sceneryI highly recommend this place to everyone who gets a chance to go.

Just went this weekend. Hadn't been since a child and it was truly the highlight of this holiday season for me and my husband. Even though it was the Saturday before Christmas, we had no trouble with traffic or crowds. Got there a little before 4:00. Had time to go to chapel, gift shop and Nativity museum before going outside for brief prayer service at 5:00 at the outdoor Nativity. After brief prayers, we were asked to start singing "Silent Night" and then, 300,000 lights suddenly came on and it was such an amazing sight and feeling, that I was moved to tears (corny as that may sound). We walked around a bit more and then headed for the car. As we left we could see lines of cars waiting to get in and were glad we missed the crowds. Time your visit to see the lights turned on. You won't be sorry.

Feel the true Christmas spirit the light displays and decorations are breath taking. Very busy during the holidays but you'll find a parking spot. Expect a lot of walking. Visit gift shop for a wonderful selection of religious or thoughtful gifts

The lights were amazing. Our friends who live nearby brought us and I was amazed at the light display. But the real highlight for me was the International Creche museum. Unbelievable. Crafted manger scenes from all over the world done in many different mediums. We spent more time admiring the collection than we did looking at the lights.

Drove to Mass and visited the Shrine, walked around and saw all the various displays. 400,000 + lights and great music playing everywhere.

Beautiful lights and a peaceful trip altogether. Do stop by and enjoy this free exhibit. Have a hot chocolate or a doughboy before heading over to Briggs Corner Pizza for the best pizza in the area!

This is a place u need to bring your children or whole family.They have a merry go round for the little ones,hot cocco,hot cider and if your real hungry they have a full kitchen you can get meals at.My family and i had such a great time we are going back in a week

La Salette shrine and the 400,000 light show is gorgeous. We went on a Monday to avoid crowds and I encourage others to do the same!! Lovely lights, beautiful displays, and a new 2000 crèche exhibit. Even the hot chocolate is good.
