Visited the Miller Mountain mine twice during the week we were in Hot Springs. The material was nasty mud. Did find some crystals but the material was nasty when wet and when it was dry it was like concrete. Had better luck as some of the other mines, but each time is different and for the cost it is worth a shot.

Literally at the end of the road, this is a great, quiet place to dig for treasures. We dug in the mud up to our ankles, but it was still great! The owners give you simple instructions and are happy to answer questions. It was our first time there, but we will be going back. I think we paid $10.00 each for the whole day, and we brought home a trunk-load of quartz.

We went to the large Coleman mine to dig for quartz crystals, and there were busloads of school children with pails ready to search. Someone told us about Miller's, and it was our lucky day! We were only able to dig for three hours because it began raining. Still, we brought home a trunk load of treasure. Don't let the narrow back-roads frighten you; you can get up the mountain!
