high country kennels

My family of 5 adults loved this dog sled ride during December 2014! The ride goes through the prettiest forest area, along the Iditarod Trail, in Willow. Our guide/driver, Christina, was a wonderful young woman who answered all of our questions and was fun to be with. Since it is a small, family-owned company, the service was very personal and perfect. Overall, this is an experience you shouldn't miss!

Awesome! This was a Christmas gift for some out of town guests and EVERYONE enjoyed the dog sled adventure. The price was very reasonable and we had a group that ranged in age from 9-68 and everyone had a great time. The mushers were very knowledgeable and friendly and the scenery was great and included a trip down the first two miles of the Iditarod Trail It was about an hour and a half drive (close by AK standards) from Anchorage and well worth the trip. The trip left from a darling lodge (Eagle Quest) with really good home made food and superb "down home" service (and an indoor bathroom). Good half day trip from Anchorage.

This was the first dog sled ride for our four boys and we could not have picked a better kennel. Christina and Tina were great with our boys.We started our adventure from the Eagle Quest Lodge, a great place to get a hot beverage or an awesome home cooked meal. You choose how long of a ride you want, from 30 minutes to an overnight trip, (or longer).You get to know the dogs, they each have their own unique personality, and then you get a “pre flight briefing”. Then it’s MUSH!
