This was a refreshing change from the usual "tourist cattlecar" routine. Terry was a very knowledgeable photography coach. At the beginning, upon discovering that all of the participants were experienced photographers, he elevated the level of the workshop to reflect this. I just wish that the wildlife and weather was a bit more cooperative (not that either one was Terry's fault).

Terry is very knowledgeable and an excellent coach and photography teacher. Plus he has broad interests and experience and makes for exceptional company. The weather and wildlife did not cooperate on my trip, but very worth while and i would do it again.

My husband has travelled extensively throughout the world and never considered doing any type of photography tour. I, as a professional artist, thought it could be interesting (but given the weather, did not hold much hope). So we gave it a shot, and were so glad we did. First, we learned that good photos can be taken under a wide variety of weather conditions. Second, after a couple of simple tips to adapt to lighting/contrast etc., our photos improved dramatically. Terry is able to take any camera and teach you how to use it to maximize the quality of your photos. Terry was very personable and encouraging. We were very comfortable right from the outset. If we only knew how much we could have learned, we would definitely have booked this tour on Day 1! Our photos on our first 3 days in Denali pale in comparison to the 3 hours we spent with Terry outside the park. A highly recommended tour...thank you Terry!

If you are on the fence about deciding to this tour… DO IT. I was unsure about going as I had not done something like this before and had trouble finding a review. Our tour guide had been and was able to highly recommend it. First, Terry is very personable, talented and knowledgeable. I feel like I am slow learner for most things but Terry made it simple and made the camera easy to understand. I had read the owner manual, not all but most and some sections a few times and this brought it all together, reinforced what I had been trying to learn and explained things in ways an owner’s manual couldn’t. Plus, the locations he took me to are phenomenal. I was going for “the state fair winning” shot but came away with something much more.

Terry Boyd is a great guide. He knows the area very well and is able to provide some great locations in a short amount of time. In additional he is a great conversationalist which is important to when traveling from location to location. Booking a day photo shoot trip with him is a great choice to maximize the time you have for a day tour. Michael Livingston

Terry knows where to go to get the great vacation photos. He knows when the light will be best. He suggest different camera angles to improve your photographs. The groups are small which enhances the experience. He is also a wealth of knowledge about the local area
