So, I've been wanting to check out some zip lining for a few years now. Finally, the time was right. I had noticed that there was zip lining in AL off of Highway 231 in Troy when driving between Dothan and Montgomery. That kind of caught me by suprise. I hadn't expected that. Here was my opportunity!!The staff was very helpful with making a reservation. And, the guides were great. Very friendly and informative. They kept a watchful eye on us and explained the challenges well! All of this makes it great for a first-timer!There was a good variety of challenges and zip lines. Some of the zip lines went between trees and others crossed over water. It felt great breezing along on a hot day. By the end, we felt the package was just right. Any more would've been exhausting. It's definitely a great place to take family or friends. And, a great place for a group outing. It's also perfectly located on the way to Destin/PCB or when headed back from the beach.

We visited B&E today and had a blast! My husband, my daughter (13), my son(10) and I all went on the recommendation of a friend. The owners, Ron and Susan, were so great and gave special attention to my timid and cautious son. They gave excellent directions and we felt very safe and secure. I would highly recommend it! And compared to what we have in NC, this was an excellent adventure for the price. We all enjoyed ourselves!

Took 10 year old on the adventure tour, which included tree top challenges and zip lines. Range of activities and individualized guides made it enjoyable and a great price compared to other zip line courses we have visited. Location is a good stopping point between Birmingham and Pensacola, off the Troy Highway. WIsh we could have visited for a family camp. Check it out it will be worth your visit.

Had a great time at the mud run. Staff were all extremely nice, helpful, and friendly. Everyone talked like they have always known you. Beautiful facilities and a great atmosphere for all ages kids to adults. Plenty to do and at a great price. They have so many other things that I didn't get to try on the day of the mud run but they have batting cages, zip lining, and many others. I would highly recommend to anyone and plan to take my son back as well.

As usual you and your staff did an excellent job Saturday during the mud run!! They were helpful at each obstacle and very personable. Enjoyed meeting everyone and of course enjoyed the mud! It was my second experience with Butter & Egg and I've highly recommended the camp to everyone I know who might be interested to get their kids involved OR who might enjoy the 5Ks.

Amazing experience. We were a group of Canadian Military Families that were out for an adventure and some team building and it was a success!! The facilities are incredible with comfortable bunk beds, full shower and bathrooms in the bunkhouse. There is even wi-fi!! We stayed overnight and were served lunch, dinner and breakfast for a group of 12, it was fantastic! The team building activities we did were very unique, had never done any of them before and they were great for our group. We ranged in age from 3 to 40+. THe tree top walk and zip lines were great and for all ages groups. We were able to conquer almost all of them along with the rockwall! The final day was restful with paddle out in the canoe, paddle boating and some fishing. Our 3 year old of the group was the only one to catch one and she was ecstatic! They even have a small mini put for kids, giant fuseball, volleyball and much more. You have to experience Camp Butter & Egg. Great hospitality, thank you again Ron and Susan for all that you did for us on our adventure!!!

Camp Butter and Egg: The Best Zipline Experience in Alabamaby: Janet Kynard, It Happens in Alabama, janet@ItHappensinAlabama.com I had the most amazing day at Camp Butter and Egg, in Troy, Alabama, located on the most beautiful 40 acres. What an experience! It is so much more than climbing a tower and jumping off then going to the next tower and jump off! I was joined by my husband Steve Kynard and Don Day and Curt Gantt of Venture Outdoors TV Show. That you can view at http://www.ventureoutdoorstv.com/archives/ziplining-and-water-rescue/I had no idea that there was so much to do or what I would learn about myself. We figured we’d go down and ride the ziplines like any other place and enjoy the beautiful 40 acres of scenery, but Camp Butter and Egg is a place where you learn about yourself and don’t even realize it until the end of the day. They teach you important life lessons. They teach team building for corporations and groups, relationship building for families, confidence building and so much more. The first thing we faced was the 35 foot climbing wall. I RANG THE BELL! I am thankful for all the support I had on the ground cheering me on. This was a valuable lesson for me – Never give up on myself. After this, everything else was easy because I had the confidence to do everything. I walked hanging bridges, cargo nets and guide wires 20 feet off the ground! The ziplines started out short and not so steep, but as you gain more and more confidence, they get taller, longer and faster. Our last zipline was 915 feet long and went over the lake. From the tower on the top of the hill, the platform was barely visible. We traveled at 27 miles per hour. This was absolutely amazing! Thanks goodness for all the other ziplines that prepared me for this one, so I knew how to stop myself! I would have hated ending up in the barn. You have the choice to do all activities or just the ones you want. Camp Butter and Egg also has other activities; Human Foosball, regulation baseball fields, tons of games for groups, a bunk house and a lodge. This is a great place for corporate groups, church groups, family reunions or just getting away with your friends or family! We are living proof that you never get too old to try something new, have fun and create more great memories.

I would never think that spending the day outside could be fun, but Camp Butter and Egg proved me wrong!! With their incredible staff, challenging courses, and wonderful facilities I can not wait to get back! If you are in town or around the area or just driving through stop by and check them out!

We had a great experience this weekend doing the ziplines, rock climbing and the rope courses. It is great for children and adults who love the outdoors and adventure. My 8 year old girl was able to climb to the top of the wall (higher than me) and keep up with the adults on the all of the other activities. It was a great way to spend an afternoon and would highly recommend it for a family or a group activity. The property is beautiful and very well maintained. It is definitley a place that we would visit again!
