Poorly maintained. More "residents" than campers. The smoker in the second bathhouse obviously lives there and spends a good amount of time there each morning. The exhaust fans have thick black dust on them. They either don't work or are not used. The bath house was never cleaned during my 7 day stay and by the evidence of bugs, etc. I can't guess how long it's been.

Fun place to eat, sit, and listen to music. Beautiful scenery on Lake Guntersville. Food was good, good selection of drinks, and very nice wait staff.

This was my second fishing trip this year to Lake Guntersville, and my stay in the campgrounds at Goose Pond Colony was outstanding! The grounds were very clean and the staff was extremely nice and helpful! I have stayed in the campgrounds several times over the past years and I am never disappointed. I was introduced to Goose Pond Colony in the summer of 2010, and I make at least 2-3 trips there each year. The non-primitive campground offers power, water, and cable hookups, which is great for my tent camping. They also have plenty of sites (more than not) that have sewage hookups, which are great for campers/rv's. The pricing is reasonable, especially with what is offered. Also, the fishing is great!

We found a nice RV site on the top of the hill looking down the lake for a 2-week project in Scottsboro. Even tho they were hosting a fishing tournament we didn't feel cramped and the entire park is well-managed by the city employees.

I came to Goose Pond at the end of January for a nice quiet get-a-way. I was hoping to view some of the walking trails and the grounds but with the rain and the cold was kept inside most of the time. I stayed in one of the cottages and was surprised by not only the size but the warm, cozy feel it gives. It was MORE than enough space for me - two bedrooms with two beds a piece, full kitchen, living room, dining area, large deck, and dock for each cabin. Was everything I could ever need. I had the BEST time! There was so much peace and quiet, I curled up with a book and some coffee most of Saturday. Saturday night I got takeout from the The Docks which was beyond wonderful. The shrimp and grits was great and the bread pudding was one of the best I've ever had. Was exactly what I needed for my weekend get-a-way and will definitely be going back. Would like to go during the summer as well, but even though the weather wasn't great didn't put a damper on my trip.

We were planning our trip to Scottsboro for a FLW tournament and researched the Goose Pond Colony Campground. We saw the negative reviews and was honestly a little nervous. We arrived in the campground yesterday and was so pleasantly surprised. Right from checking in the staff and campground has blown us away. I am not sure what might have happened when the bad reviewers stayed here, however our experience is 100% positive. The campground is clean, the spots are easy to get into, the spots are quite larger than what we are accustomed to, and everyone is so friendly. I know some other reviewers mentioned the log term campers, however I can tell you that all of those campers keep their area and rigs looking nice. It is an absolutely beautiful campground. My husband and I were joking last night about writing a review. We joked that we should say nothing that way we can keep this treasure hidden, That would be unfair though, we felt compelled to share our awesome experience. We will be here until Sunday and love it! Read the reviews, however I encourage you to check the campground yourself. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Goose Pond is a great golf course in a picturesque setting. The Docks restaurant is great for grabbing a bite or a drink after a great round of golf!

We are new to the RV life. What a way to start at Goose Pond Colony Plantation in Scottsboro, Alabama. It is actually a self contained community. They have apartments, condos, cabins, an amphitheater, golf course, marina, restaurant, pool, playground, tent campsites all the way up to million dollar motor homes. Our RV is on the lake with a pier and our back door looks out over the golf course. Since neither my husband nor I play golf, I cannot give you a review of the golf course other than it is very pretty and well maintained. They have everything you need to make your stay in the park a complete success. We will be living between our home and Goose Pond for the next six months. We love it.

I'm a PGA pro and take groups to play. I took 20 to Myrtle Beach and we decided to try your courses for next year. I called and reserved a cabin and placed a deposit down. The next day I call the golf shop to set up tee times and was informed one of the courses was closed for maintenance. I had 7 guys and they did not want to play just one course so I called to cancel our reservations. I was told since it was within weeks I had to forfeit my $200 deposit. was never told one course was closed and felt this was unjustified and asked to talk to manager and received same results. I finally talked to GM and he had it arranged to play Gunthers Landing. We checked in Sunday night and played our 1st round Monday before office opened and went by between rounds to play for golf package at 11;00 and was informed they didn't take payment till 2:00 and closed at 4:00 and our second tee time was at 1:00. They gave in and excepted our payment but would only except payment from one person not each individual so we had to use all our cash and then was told we could not use AMEX. This was the worst customer service we have ever gotten. The golf shop personnel were great and the course was good, but we will NEVER BE BACK.

I would like to share with you the OUTSTANDING customer service provided by the golf staff at Goose Pond Colony. My foursome drove down from Chattanooga to play on Saturday July 13th. The course was busy. The cart person greeted us and talked with us. She offered to load our clubs on a cart. I told her that we were early and there was no rush. We checked in and purchased range balls. While we were all hitting something that I have never seen happen any were I have played before. This guy comes out starts walking up and greeting the players on the range. He got up to my friend and introduced himself as David Sikes PGA Director of Golf at Goose Pond Colony and Plantation Clubs. I asked him were was Plantation course he took time with us telling us about new greens that were being installed and asking us to come back this fall to try the new greens. He even saw my friend was having a problem with his golf swing. He spent about 15 minutes with him helping him with his problem. My friend tried to pay him he would not take anything. He asked us to just tell our friends about Goose Pond Colony and Plantation and come back to see him. Later during our round he stopped by to see if we were enjoying ourselves. Goose Pond is very lucky to have a person like him in charge. We will be back more times during the year. Thanks for a great time.

We stayed in the cottages at Goose Pond Colony over Memorial Day weekend. All in all it was a great experience. We actually rented 5 of the cottages for 31 family members for a reunion. The cottages have 2 bedrooms each with 2 Q beds per room. There are 2 bathrooms (large) and a kitchen (small but adequate with full size oven/range, refrigerator and dishwasher) as well as a living/dining area. The best part of the cabins was the screened porch all across the back overlooking beautiful Lake Guntersville. Each cabin has access to a fishing dock (I think 2 cabins share a dock). We have stayed at Lake Guntersville State Park at the chalets for the last several years, but came here this year and not sure I would go back to LGSP. This place is beautiful and the golf course very nice...WAY better than LGSP. There is a pool and a marina. TIP: Cottage #2 has wireless internet. Did not appear to be any in the other cottages.

This place is AMAZING ! I can not even begin to describe how AWESOME the food is... we had tuna bites and group fingers for appetizers. I ordered the tuna bites for my meal as well. The filet mignon will melt in your mouth... I could go on and on. Compliments to the chef !!! Drinks a fantastic and the atmosphere is relaxing and laid back... we had to leave before the music started, we came by boat from Guntersville and were not familiar with the area. We will definitely be back :)

Too bad for the beauty of the adjoining golf course…. Notice, the pictures of the campground are from the lake. There is a reason for that. It really isn’t a campground, it looks more a residential community complete with RVs on blocks with wooden stairs and permanent broken down decks attached, and above ground septic tanks surrounded by tall grass. No, we did not stay here. We drove down from Chattanooga to check it out. I hope our wasted day will save others from the disappointment before you make the trip with camper in tow. They had a newly constructed fish cleaning station that looked nice. Someone has not reviewed the list of rules for the campground in a while. If they followed the rules and really wanted patrons and not homesteaders this place on the river could be beautiful. Visit at your own risk. I have nothing to gain or lose. I do not understand the great reviews.
