We visited October 6-15. Very disappointed in the fishing results. Only found one spot way across the lake from where we were staying that actually produced and we went a lot of different places. Everyone we talked to suggested certain spots, lures and techniques for catching crappie. The only thing that worked was bobbers and minows. Husband wants to go back and try again another time. I'm out. I'll go to a spa - and I love the outdoors!

Lake Weiss (pronounced "Wice") is an Alabama Power Company hydroelectric impoundment covering 30,200 acres in northeast Alabama on the Alabama - Georgia border. The Weiss Lake fishery is the major economic influence in Cherokee County, so the locals treat anglers very well. Four free public access areas and 37 privately run marinas service Lake Weiss. Campgrounds, motels and rental cabins dot the shoreline of the lake.
