Visited this resort several times with tour bus.The buffet is great.Food court is good also.Rooms are clean.Gambling is limited to slots and horse racing.The slots are up to date but are a far cry from cushattas selections.The comps are good,especialy for food and free rooms.

On way home we made a quick stop at Delta Downs for lunch and last minute gambling. The buffet was excellent. It is a small casino but very clean and colorful. We played a variety of slots which I lost but my girlfriend did great on the dollar slots - - came out ahead - great way to end a trip. It's only a few miles from Orange Texas - -

We are headed to Mardi Gras in Lafayette and opted to begin our annual trek with an overnight stay here. We checked into our room and found it clean, extremely comfortable, and loved the beautiful restrooms. We headed down and wanted a quick bite before hitting the slots. I opted for the food court area and tried the sausage and chicken gumbo at Down Home Diner. I asked the lady behind the counter if the gumbo was good and she smiled and replied, "yes, I made it".It was fantastic and I will make certain to return for more. The slots were more generous than the Nugget and La Burge and glad we stayed here over them.

We stop here on the way to San Antonio for the night. They allow "free" RV over night parking in the lot by the race track. Free being whether you gamble and win at the casino, ours turned out not to be "free". The staff was friendly and the casino was very clean. People were smoking but it didn't really smell smokey. The gambling was behind a glass wall with a security guard at the entrance. Surprisingly they didn't have a bar in the gambling area. We did get to see some horse racing from the parking lot where we were parked.

Casino has plenty of slots but a lot of them would not read the player card. At this casino, people can leave any amount of credits in the machine and you best check to make sure there are NO credits before you put your money in it. I sat down on a penny machine where there was no one around, inserted my ticket of $51. and change and this man comes yelling at me, telling me he was playing it and he had a lot of money and how much had I inserted and on and on. This went on for about 5 minuets and no one around to help. He finally said he would take $10.00 and leave me alone. To get rid of him my husband gave him the $10.00. The amount of credits on the machine after I put my ticket in was $51. and change so if he had anything in it, it was change. Did not have a good experience and will not return.

We went for the live horse racing and had a great time. Then we went to the casino...The whole casino is dirty, empty glasses everywhere, filled ashtrays and I saw one person cleaning the whole time I was there. There is no chance of getting drunk because the drink service is next to non existent! But the worst part was the smell! Honestly parts of the casino smells like body odor and cigarettes. The smell was so bad I had to go toward the doors to play. The casino was a big disappointment.

My husband and I recently visited Delta Downs casino and were blown away by the awesome customer service!! The employees go out of their way to help with any concerns you have. All the employees are so friendly and helpful and the room was clean,quiet and a comfortable bed!! Couldn't have asked for more !! Thank you Delta for a great first experience!! We definitely reccomend the facilities and rooms to anyone wanting wonderful customer service and clean comfortable rooms!!Terri

We would go back during live racing season, other than that I am not a big slot player. Wife enjoyed it though. It was a nice place but crowded. We came out a few bucks up so that was good. Drink service was good. If they had craps I would be more interested in going back.Since they have live horse racing though we will be back to check it out.

Their is one person at the food court that is very rude she is a different nationality I don't know she's Chinese Mexican or what bet she never never gets my order right I asked her if certain things in the bags you say yes yes they are yes they are when we get on the road nothing is right we always have the ribs and ask for the mild sauce she always gives us the hot BBQ sauce Thanks

I've been to several casinos in the area, but I have to say that this is the cleanest of them all. They are always getting new games, but they seem to be video games. I'm not a gambler and I never win big. My Dad goes several times a month and he always wins at least $1000. The buffet is pretty good if you get there when it opens. I've never seen the horses because they only run on the weekend.

we traveled to meet up with relatives there and had a great time. they have a wide selection of different amount of money machines.we felt that they would let us win alittle to keep going longer. Well kept areas, lots of lights flashing.

I went to Delta Downs this past weekend with my 2 daughters we were at the least disappointed.The service was lacking in the casino and staff was rude they also shut most of the casino. Well it was worth a visit we usually go to Lake Charles. Having said that the Hotel and Casino look nice, but the beds were uncomfortable and the room service pretty much non existent. We had breakfast in the food court nothing else was opened it was like eating at mall. Not for us so next time we go to our favorite place in Lake Charles it's just a further drive and well worth it!

Although I had no luck in the casino, the Gator Lounge provided a great experience. The lounge is open in the pavilion and right across from the entrance to the casino. It is free to enter. They are very accommodating and allow you to bring food and drinks in from the diner which is adjacent to the lounge. There is no smoking in this area which is great for the patrons, workers, and performers. Leroy Thomas and the Zydeco Roadrunners provided a great show, with many of the guests returning for a second night of their performance.

Beautiful view of racetrack and food prices are reasonable. Great drink service and the slots seem to pay well. The players club card earns rewards quickly. The buffet at lunch is very good.

Delta Downs is always clean and always fun. Hotel staff is ready with extra pillows and twice I have forgotten a toothbrush (they saved me). The casino is bright and has an excellent ventilation system. I recommend this hotel and casino for a weekend getaway or a midweek work break.
