For those of you born in the rockin 1950's-60's this is a must see. Museum is authentic and very informative. Located in historic downtown Ferriday, the birthplace of Jerry Lee Lewis.

Frankie Jean is Jerry Lee's younger sister and keeps her home as a virtual shrine to Jerry, plus as a haven for her rescue dogs. People kept trying to steer us away from visitng; there is virtually no sign. So of course we had to stop in. This is NOT FOR EVERYBODY. The place, though clean, suffers from disorganization. Frankie is eccentric, to say the least -- inpossible to keep her on topic -- but if you want to meet a character (who sincerely loves her brother but promises to tell the truth) and have patience for non-sequitors, Frankie Jean would be glad to talk to you. Be prepared to offer a donation. She is a well-meaning and generous person. For my husband this was the highlight of the trip -- not so much for the museum but because he likes unique, unvarnished individuals. FOr me, not so much, but I certainly won't forget it!

First off, got there at 12 and the tours don't start till 1. They were very nice and took us thru anyways. Jerry's nephew was our guide. He let us know ahead of time how much it would cost ($10). Interesting man. The tour was good but I felt there could be changes to attract visitors. 1) The nephew talked about himself the entire time. I'd personally like to know more intimate things about Jerry. But any questions I had he thoroughly answered them about Jerry. 2) I think when guests enter the house up the stairs, there should be Jerry's music playing at all times just as Graceland has of Elvis'. 3) I'd like to see more Jerry artifacts such as clothes, shoes, etc. Rather than walls and walls of photos of Jerry, random family members, and other celebrities. The house was old but nice. I didn't find it dirty, dim, or smelly. The family seemed like great people. Our guide was funny and very polite. He was laid back and very open to questions. If your hoping to see a bunch of Jerry memorabilia, you won't get that here. You'll get pics, piano, and rooms. But you will get the down home country family who could give a crap less what anyone thinks about them. That's what makes them stand out.

I wasn't sure what to expect when we drove up to this little house. Turns out, this is where Jerry Lee Lewis was born and raised. His sister, Frankie Jean Lewis, now lives here and does tours in her home. The house is, interesting, and Frankie is very eccentric and full of energy. She has three cute dogs and tons of Jerry Lee Lewis memorabilia. It was cool to hear her stories about meeting Elvis, Johnny Cash and many more. She even has the original piano that they all played on from sun studio. Frankie does free tours but asks for donations. Please leave her one, she is a very sweet lady. The phone number on tripadvisor doesn't work so use these (318) 719-0532 or (813) 760-4106.
