We were excited to go on a western cookout in Yellowstone but got caught up in the park and did not make it to the cookout in time. The company could not have been nicer. Did not charge us and told us to come back next time. We will! Thank you!

For $60 for adults, it is best to go for the adventure and not necessarily for the food. Parade Rest has a beautiful setting near a lake for their Western Cookout. They provide a singer with a guitar who does a nice job with country and western songs and chatter with the group. The food was less impressive. You cannot count on the list of food mentioned on the Ranch web site. The baked potato listed morphed into potato salad which was good, except for those who weren't crazy about the mayonnaise. We counted on the listed "salad," which we expected to be leafy green, but which turned out to be mayonnaisy (again!) slaw with carrots, which was average. The dessert was carrot cake which was okay, but did not appeal to all. Our group would say have the steak if you eat it - the chicken was a little dry. Meat portions were large. The cookout ended with everyone gathering around a fire and roasting marshmallows for s'mores. The little ones had a good, sticky time with this.We made arrangements months in advance for our large group to attend the Western Cookout at the ranch. They had the paperwork on our reservation but still managed to mess things up, keeping us off the surrey and making us wait a very long time for a ride. We had children as young as 3 waiting...and waiting. I would advise checking in the day of your trip to make sure your reservations are correct. The "boss" was surly and did not seem to particularly care how things were going for the cookout. She said she had things to do on the telephone.Overall, the setting and the music overcame everything.

Trail riding with my grand daughter was a great experience. The staff was very helpful and encouraging even to those of us who are not riders.

A group of 9 friends enjoyed a one hour horseback trail ride which ended with a cowboy cookout. Everyone enjoyed the experience with the steak meal being exceptionally well done and plentiful. The price was reasonable, about $75 per person.

I found this place after I had paid for lodging elsewhere. My kids really wanted to go so we went out for the day. We ate breakfast, rode horses, and did the cookout. It was a real Montana experience for my family. Don't miss it! They allow public to eat there also and the food is really good!

Thanks to our guide Quinn for a great experience. We rode here with our two boys 12 & 9, the staff is friendly and horses well trained. A wonderful place to ride in the foothills of the Gallitan Mountains just outside YNP.

My husband and I planned a trip to Yellowstne for our honeymoon. We are horse people so we decided to stay at a guest ranch. I did lots of research. One phone call to Parade Rest sold me. Their hospitality and professionalism is beyond comparison. The horses were amazing and the landscape spectacular. The staff went above and beyond to make our trip unforgettable and succeeded! Thank you all so much. We WILL be back.

I would have rated the ride as average BUT while our rangler was polite, he did not engage with customers. What turned the experience sour was I finding the horse I rode had bad girth gall (sores) and should not have been ridden until healed.

A vacation is measured by many things and Parade Rest Ranch exceeded them all. The ranch was relaxing and peaceful. Riding horses two to three times a day was a treat and the views from the trails were amazing. The entire staff was friendly and took great care of us. This is a must stop if you are traveling to the Yellowstone area!

We had a family reunion here. My family is from the area and we chose the parade rest because of the cabins and that it is away from everything. We rented basicaly the whole place. The cabins are clean and comfy. They have great food and i would recomend letting them pack you a luch while headed into the park. The cabins sit right on a nice creek. They have a game room with a computer and a TV. The hot tub is great. The trail rides are fun. We did the cookout one night and had a ball. Great place to stay! Kids love the freedom to roam and they have bikes set out for a bike ride if you wish. The horses are right there so my kids loved to pet and feed them.

Parade Rest Guest Ranch was a wonderful experience. I truly enjoyed the trail rides and saw a lot of wildlife and beautiful views. A relaxed atmosphere. My horse was perfectly matched to my novice riding ability and the wranglers were so patient!
