Nice because it's so close to town, yet you feel like you're getting out. Excellent hiking, mountain biking and dog walking trails.

They have a great running trail that I just found out about last week. It is currently covered in some snow but during the sunny days it is awesome, almost like your own personal private dirt trail.

If you like to hike or run on trails this is a place to go. The trails are marked and sharing with horses and bicycles is easy to do. There is a map of the trails at the trail head and on line.

We decided to take the dog for a walk and went here. It is a nice area to explore and go for a couple of hours. The trails are nice and somewhat marked well. The views are spectacular!

Blue Mountain is a great place for folfing. They have a really neat folf course. Also great hiking trails abound.

There is some very nice hiking around this hill, and if there is enough snow it can make for some sledding. It can be extremely packed with people on the sledding areas, but that area is much safer. There is a very dangerous sledding hill above the two others. If you decide to attempt it, some possible injuries might include cracked ribs, bruised tailbone, dislocated shoulder, or sprained knee. Be careful.

Blue Mountain is a favorite spot to walk the dog, ride your horse or just take a picnic and enjoy the views of the valley.

Blue Mountain Recreationall area is close to Missoula and very convenient when you want exercise and a great outdoors hike. There are dozens of trails and places to roam. Good for the whole family. Being close and convenient makes it easy on the car gas bill. Just head out any time of the year to enjoy the outdoors in Missoula.

Love Blue Mountain...I take my dogs there on a regular basis to run, hike, and retrieve their favorite ball. We love going here because there is a new, undiscovered (by us) trail around every bend. You can go on a short, quick hike or make it an all-day affair. Awesome place just minutes from downtown Missoula.

Do you like to throw discs? The folf course has some excellent terrain, huge tees, strategically grown trees (lol), and tons of friendly folfers

This is one of the go-to places to run your dog around or in the winter, to go sledding. Go local!

Dogs get to run free at Blue Mountain, so if you are not a dog fan, this is not the place for you. But if you love to interact with other dog owners, socialize and exercise your dog (and you!) Blue Mountain is the spot! Also open to those with horses, so make certain your dogs will be appropriate if you meet them on the path. Super views of Missoula, seasonally. It is not busy like the dog park, by any means. You can be as social as you like, or just find solitude on the mountain. There are other areas as well, where dogs are required to be on a leash, but I just don't venture there!

Great folf course. There is an area to walk the dogs, and get in a decent hike. -If you come in the winter there is are good sledding hills for kids and the adults. ( But you maybe sore the next day)
