The impressive thing about this small museum is that the things that you see there were actually found on the site. That is very cool.

The entrance to this museum is through a music shop in downtown Glendive. The entrance fee is only $3 and the person in charge took the time to show me around. There didn't seem to be many interesting fossils from the local area. A lot of the stuff was either from another part of the world (e.g., China) or was a replica of a well known fossil. I wanted to see local fossils. The displays seemed a bit disorganized, but I must admit, I did not spend a lot of time there. Nothing really attracted my attention. The full sized model of the T. rex was certainly interesting to see. In my view, not worth a trip to Glendive, but if you happen to be there for some other reason, worth a visit. There is also another dino oriented museum in Makoshika State Park which is just down the street. And there is a "creationist" dino museum which is also located in Glendive. I didn't visit the latter!

We stopped at the local museum in town. It has bones and casts from actual animals found in the area. It is not too large, but has a lot of stuff. Cost $3.00 and worth it. There is a larger one in town, will review it tomorrow.

We had a wonderful time visiting the museum, and Steve & Christie were helpful and informative. The displays were outstanding and the signage gave plenty of information about each of the dinosaurs on display. We look forward to returning after they install more this summer!

WE enjoyed the park and the museum, the people there were very friendly and knowledgeable.

This museum is in the process of moving from their previous location across the street, so not everything is displayed yet, and not all signage in place. But because of this, the head paleontologist led us around personally, telling us stories of collecting the specimens, facts about the dinos, and doing a great job of teaching our kids while making it appear that he was merely entertaining them. His students were there as well, pitching in occasionally. This paleontologist still does major field digs and invites volunteers and Make-a-Wish children to participate. All-in-all, this was a fantastic stop on our Montana Dinosaur Trail adventure. Note: the smaller musei on this "trail" are usually much better in terms of personal interaction and learning than the bigger ones. Very impressed!
