This was a very fascinating tour. The staff were friendly and helpful, and very knowledgeable. I found it fascinating that the design of the buildings was true to the era in which it was built. The dinosaur museum was also fascinating, and I could have spent more time there, but the generator station tour started shortly after we got there. The dino replicas give a much better sense of how HUGE those animals were, than does seeing them on television.

Some of the most interesting dinos from the area on display. Makes you want to look over your shoulder just in case "they" come back.

Visiting this museum is a great way to enhance a visit to the reservoir itself. It's a little small by "big town" standards but it is just the right size to spend an hour or so in, and there are enough interesting things for kids to keep them occupied. It has some nice fossils from the area and some history of the dam project. One of the unexpected benefits to visiting is the fact that the parking lot gives a great perspective on just how much water the dam is holding back...you get a real sense of how high the thing is that is lacking from the road.
