We went on the 90 minute ride & it did not disappoint! Lee was great in following up with phone calls & providing information over the phone. When we arrived everything was ready for us. We had Toni as our guide. She is personable, attentive & knowledgeable. The horses are gentle, happy & well cared for. The trails & the location in Goddard Park are scenic & beautiful. Having your own guide & not being stuck in a big group makes it a personalized adventure- perfect for couples, families, friends, etc, This is the real deal if you want a trail ride-not a tourist trap.

We wanted a birthday treat for my 9 year old daughter, and C and L stables did not disappoint! Smith was our guide and did a fantastic job on the trails - making sure we knew what to do to enjoy the trails, keep ourselves and the horses safe. My daughter was a little nervous at the beginning, but got more comfortable and enjoyed the opportunity to trot. We did the beach walk and enjoyed the view from horseback. I would thorougly recommend this stable for riders at all levels - great facilities and well cared for horses, with a focus on safety.

We wanted to introduce our 8 year old to horseback riding. The staff at C and L were very nice and knowledgeable. They chatted with my son to get a sense of his comfort level and then paired him with a very suitable horse. My usually shy and reserved boy chatted with the guide, and was laughing and smiling the entire time. He loved the experience so much he wants to return. The prices are better than several other places we looked at in CT and RI, and they have horses for adults of various sizes. The trails are beautiful. We can't wait to return for the beach ride.

This was a wonderful riding facility where I felt like safety was of the utmost importance to the owner. She had set rules regarding approaching the horses and spent time pairing each rider with the horse that was best suited to our party's needs. I especially appreciated that our teen was required to wear a helmet in order to ride. Everything was very organized and professional. Toni, our guide, was outstanding! She offered us opportunities to trot the horses being sure everyone was comfortable before proceeding. She was very interactive and I liked that she addressed each of us by name. Toni even took a family photo of us! We've been on several trial rides but have never gotten this type of personal service. We did the bayside beach ride and the views were beautiful! The trails were tranquil and we even saw a mother and her fawn. This was a fantastic family experience and an excellent value.

My kids are experienced riders and really enjoyed the ride. Cantering during part of the ride made the trip. On most trail rides your just walking. The guide checked out the kids ability and confidence on the horses before letting the run. My teenagers came back smiling and laughing. Another family went out with no riding experience and enjoyed the slow ride in the woods. We will definitely return for another ride.

Excellent trail riding experience, caters to all levels. Went for a ride with my boyfriend and cousin, both intermediate riders, while I'm advanced. We did the 1.5 hour beach cove ride. It was only $45, a complete steal compared to Newport Equestrian Academy, which quoted us $100 each for a lesser ride with only walking on a road near the beach. At C & L stables everyone was very friendly and professional. The horses were in great shape and very clean and well cared for. We had a private guide at no extra cost who was friendly and knowledgeable. She took us walking, trotting, and cantering through the scenic and quiet trails of Goddard Park and onto a beautiful long stretch of beach around the cove. The horses were safe, but energetic and happy to be out on the ride. Perfect in every respect!Tip: Ask for Cathleen if you can she was a terrific guide!
