We have seen South Pacific on Broadway and was not expecting the same experience at the Granite. However, with the small theatre and stage at the Granite, the performance was very entertaining and was enjoyed by our group of 4.

First visit for me to this C1846 Bldg. which was purchased in 2013 by The Renaissance City Theatre, Inc. After seeing a production of South Pacific and reading of the purpose of this dedicated arts group, I recommend attending events at this lovely location. Street parking as well as parking @ a nearby church allows for an easy stroll to the Granite Theatre. I did not notice the bldg. being handicap feasible. The production of South Pacific was terrific and felt so personable as the stage and seating were so close in a small room reached by ascending stairs. Beverages and minimal snack options sold and were allowed in the theatre. The cast was available for meet and greet after the musical. This particular production runs through Nov. 16, 2014. Tickets: General $25, Senior $22 , Youth $15

Better than an NY off off broadway. Viating from NY we are always happy to see theatre. This classic domain offered incredible talent.

Time after time, the Granite Theatre knocks our socks off with classic plays, wonderfully delivered. We laughed and thrilled to their presentation of Agatha Christie this month. Next month, we look forward to enjoying one of my favorite musicals, South Pacific.

We enjoyed "And then there were none". The cast was wonderful and the theater well thought out. As it is a "who done it?" and we had not seen it before, the character portrayal was such that it added to the question.

This little theatre was renovated but kept it's historic colonial look. The theatre offers several plays each year and all are so well done! It's a lovely little theatre and every show is special and enjoyable!

This Westerly theater has earned the good reputation it deserves and the support of the community. Summer residents list this as one of the reasons they come to Westerly. The shows are mainly proven standards that continue to delight.

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful play, From Stage to Screen on Saturday, May 24,2014. This was our first time visiting this theater. We loved the show and such talented singers and dancers; the seats are so comfortable and the theater is just lovely. We'll definitely come back.

A wonderful experience overall - the historic building is lovely, the seats are comfortable, it's air conditioned and there isn't a bad seat in the house. Most importantly, the local casts provide very solid and professional entertainment for a real bargain price. In fairness, most of the plays they perform aren't your well-known Broadway hits, they are usually farcical comedies - some are hilarious, some are silly, but the sets and staging are always well done and the shows very enjoyable. Once or twice a year they undertake a more well-known show, this year it will be Sound of Music. Based on prior years' shows, I expect it will be wonderful - for a small theatre, using local talent, they do an outstanding job with the musicals rivaling shows we've see at the much more expensive Theatre by the Sea in Matunuck. We are so fortunate to have this theatre in Westerly!

Went to see Boeing, Boeing two weeks ago and it was a very entertaining performance in a very nice restored facility

This is a charming theatre with superb performances. The cast is always at a professional level. It seems to me their specialty is bedroom farces, and they do them so they are hysterically funny. There are never any actors that don't fit, or lines poorly delivered. The lobby of the theatre has a little wine bar and the parking is very easy.

We have enjoyed going to Granite Theatre for over 15 years. The theatre was renovated about 10 or so years ago and there is not a bad seat in it. We have been to dozens of productions and always admired the professionalism of the artists. Most recently saw the comedy, Boeing Boeing and it had the audience in stitches. The price for a ticket is extremely reasonable and the theatre's downtown location makes it a very pleasant to walk to many of Westerly's fine restaurants and coffee shops. It is a wonderful way to spend an evening and not break the bank.

It took just once to fall in love with the Granite. There isn't a bad seat in the house!Well scored and well directed, each and every performance was a jem.Much rather enjoy the Granite performances than put up with the obscene cost of plays in Boston and New York.Plenty of covered, lighted free parking behind the bank, just a few steps down the street.Casts are talented and memorable. You won't be disappointed, I promise!

this small theater has had some woderful plays over the years. It is small and therefore very homey and friendly. Every seat is a good seat and the actors they bring in are top notch. Just a great little theater.

Westerly, RI has a strong community theater tradition and this theater is across the road from Olmsted designed park and beautiful library.
