Pack some lunch and bring the whole family. This is an EASY walk in the woods and the payoff is unbelievable. Try swimming in that cold mountain water

This trail starts out through a small, densely populated woods from a small parking lot just off a side road off Route 4 south about 10 minutes drive outside of Rangeley. You follow the trail up alongside the brook; it took us about 30 minutes with a few stops here and there for photos. The upper section has some steep parts where log staircase rails and stairs have been made for the few areas that are a bit steep/close to the edge of the falls. These areas are not really "scary" just steep…. my husband who has bad knees was able to do this trail, and the few stair steps… he just took his time and did fine. Even is you opted to not go as far as the few stairs, it's still a beautiful hike… quick rewards even after the 1st 10 minutes of hiking in. He hiked in and back out the same trail as we weren't sure there was a loop on this one. It was just as nice coming to falls as it was coming back down as you follow the gorge almost the entire way. Enjoy!

Beautiful! We enjoyed this short little walk through the woods, which took less than an hour to trek to the falls and back. The waterfalls are amazing with the power they have. Don't let the kids get too close to the edge!

If you just want to get a little hike in along a stream, this is the perfect walk. A gentle incline that follows the Cascade Stream and near the end a small gorge to enjoy and swim. About 2 miles round trip. 2 hours round trip. ~200 ft. elevation.

This is a steep little dirt road that you have navigate with your car. The hike was good short maybe a half hour to the end. If you wanted to see the gorge in many places you had to leave the trail for views and they were partial where you could not take in the whole scene.

Loved seeing the water falls but the trail was a bit challenging ,would not want to have kids running around that were not carefull as it could be very dangerous

Magnificent 90' waterfall at end of approximately 3000 feet long trail, as well as a pretty, smaller waterfall midway along the trail. Some trailguides say this is an easy trail, but it does have roots and rocks to climb up and over, so I'd rate it closer to moderate.

Beautiful and easy trail I did comfortably seven months pregnant. There's a smaller falls and a larger falls to trek up to. We just did the smaller falls, and it took no time to get to it. Great for peopel with limited hiking ability and for families.

I don't know that this qualifies as a "hike". There are a couple of steps that are a bit tricky but it didn't take much time or effort to reach the cascade. This would have been the perfect spot to have a picnic! This is defiantly a hidden gem as one reviewer stated. Thanks to trip advisor we were able to squeeze in this quick adventure. Great views. Very picturesque!

If you are not an avid hiker, but want to have the Maine experience on the trails, this is the hike for you. Gorgeous waterfalls, beautiful scenery - do not forget your camera. It requires hands in a few places, but not too strenuous. Great for even little dogs. You will want to take this hike every time you come!

Just found this gem a year ago and have brought many friends and our dogs there for a relaxing hike. Many photo ops. Small parking area and steep drive up to it so be ready with good tires or AWD. Worth it!
