Wonderful Historical Cemetery boasting the grave of Martin Van Buren (8th US President) and his wife. You can also find other members of the Van Buren family as well. Its definitely worth a look after visiting Lindenwald. You will also note other Columbia County famous residents such as Van Alen and Van Schaack family members. Its helpful to have a run down of the notable families of Kinderhook before visiting the cemetery. Find A Grace online as well as a search of Kinderhook attractions (Luykas Van Alen House, Lindenwald, Vanderpoel House of History etc) should provide needed details. Also a Village of Kinderhook Walking tour brochure PDF t can be found online (Village of Kinderhook website) to help you navigate around town. Also be awarer that the Kinderhook Reformed Church on Broad Streret also has a marker for Martin Van Buren but this is not his grave. Lots of History here and you can spend a weekend just hitting the high points ....Enjoy!

A wonderfully lovely and interesting old cemetery, it boasts the grave of eighth President Martin Van Buren, whose fascinating home is not far from the cemetery. The home is a National Trust site and well worth a visit when in the Hudson Valley area, or even worth a drive to it for history buffs.
