Nice local tavern with lot's a character and great food. Had stopped in Saugerties NY to do a little antique shopping and then up to Coxsackie NY for lunch, dinner and an overnight stay at the Holiday Inn (pool and hot tub). Soup of the day was New England Clam chowder - homemade and very tasty. The salad was huge and delicious and the black-bean burger was the best I have ever had. French Fries? I try to avoid, here I had to force myself to stop. Great selection of tap beers. A really nice place to stop and refuel. Nice local flavor.

A very nice bar atmosphere with really good Pub food. Only down side is it gets too busy for my blood. I guess that's a good thing. Try it out on a music night for a fun night out.

We were recently in Coxsackie and looking for a quick dinner so we stopped in the Cask and Rasher. While there were a few locals at the bar and at a few tables who mostly knew each other, the wait staff made us feel very welcome. They were friendly and attentive. The beer selection is good and the food is excellent. We both had dinner salads and I had chili as well which was excellent. There are only a few places to eat in this town and this place was a pleasant surprise. I would definitely dine here again.
