This park is a bit off the beaten path but worth every minute of the drive to get here. The falls are incredible, as are the many trails to hike on. Worth seeing.

The falls were gushing, but lots of ice framed a most spectacular sight. Trails were snow packed and slippery, but worth every minute and every step.

Even if you don't live within minutes of this park- it is worth the extra time to come visit. The falls are pretty spectacular, especially when there has been a lot of rain. While there is not a formal place to pull over to see the falls while driving up the road you can still find room to pull over on the side of the road and get some great photos. Once in the park it is small, so it is easy to park, not far to the trails, and not very crowded. The trails are fairly short, easy- but the steps do involve some uneven and/or steep rocks, and very scenic. Bring your dogs, kids ( but be ready to carry them part of the way if going all the way down the gorge and they have short legs, otherwise older kids and teens can easily navigate the trails), the whole family, or just enjoy a solo nature hike. There is a small ($3) parking fee, but is otherwise free.

Following a conference Hamilton, New York, some of us were looking for a nice place to get out in nature and stretch our legs. This proved to be the perfect destination. The falls are spectacular, and there's a nice walk in the woods with some good views along various streambeds. The trails perhaps aren't marked as well as they should be, but the park isn't big enough to get seriously lost, so it's not a big deal.

This was a nice stop, made all the more lovely by the fall foliage and the crisp air of a late September morning. The falls are pretty impressive even though there hasn't been a lot of rain lately to make the water flow more/faster. The park has nice trails down to the bottom of the gorge but you don't need to trek all the way down for a pretty view. The climb back up can be a cardio workout unless you really take your time. The big park area has a big picnic area and even a baseball diamond for a family game. There are port-pottys and other rest facilities too.

The Chittenango Falls are amazing! We went the end of September, and the weather was perfect. There is a great little hike to the bottom of the falls, then back around the top that is short enough to be family friendly, though it is a bit steep in some places. There were also lots of little markers with all kinds of information about the falls. I was so glad to have taken the time to go!

We decided to check out this park on a whim .. from the siting you have from the highway all the way to the bridge ... a breathtaking falls.

Poorly advertised this is a gem ! This park will make your camera come out ! I guess the surprise is how far the falls drop , because The American falls have had rocks fall to the bottom-- the actual drop is less than Chittenango Falls --I'm not trying to compare the scale but if you are a hiker you can walk down the side and take pictures from the bottom --a great couple of hours will go by fast !

We went on a terribly rainy day so did not experience the trip to the bottom of the falls. However from the overlook these falls were gorgeous. Definitely worth the stop and umbrella usage...will need to go back on a better day to fully appreciate the park.

This would be a great place to take someone special on an outing to see the huge falls dropping. Do picnic or short hike. Don't step on any of the rare snails here in the park, they are only found here and are endangered.Weekdays: $3/carWeekends/Holidays: $5/carNon-Commercial Bus Fee: $35Commercial Bus Fee: $75Seasonal Bus Permit: $75 - See more at: http://nysparks.com/parks/130/fees-rates.aspx#sthash.pTvNbsr3.dpuf

*** ERROR - I was thinking of the wrong park when I added the location. It's in/near Fayetteville. There is more info. here. http://nysparks.com/parks/130/getting-there.aspxI also have some photos I'd like to add. *** Pretty park with a beautiful waterfall. Trails down to the bottom of the falls are steep and uneven, but our 2-year-old niece managed it one way (slowly) with adults holding both hands. She got a piggyback ride on the way back up. $5 parking fee. The automated system would not accept debit cards when we were there. There's also a pavilion which was occupied when we were there - we had to park on the grass with many others as the asphalt lot was full. Fishing is allowed above the falls.
