It is well kept and quietly respectful. If you go during the week and the workers are working near by where you are visiting, they stop working until you leave.

Beautiful place, well maintained. Proud that such a place is available to our veterans. I wish more people would bring potted flowers to the grave so the staff could plant them along the roadsides to make the place prettier. It is a little depressing to see dead flowers even though they are removed every 2 weeks.

The run this cemetery well, and are organized with details for family members to be buried or their information easily retrieved on computer. They keep the grass green and beautiful, and have big flags in May for Memorial day.

Grounds well kept, ceremony given for veterans before burial is very heart warming, love having the folded flag (now framed in my home) as a reminder of his pride in serving. I saw the crew preparing the graves for burial and was pleased to see that every coffin is lowered into a total concrete encasement. Headstone was in place 1 month after burial. Very organized. I will visit often.

This National Cemetery is located on Route 25 in Calverton. Opposite the Old Grumman Facility. It is in a rural setting yet it Stands Tall. It is maintained or should I say manicured daily. Every a aspect of this cemetery is top shelf. The staff from the office, to the grounds keepers all do a professional job. God Bless them. And those entered.

My dad passed away many years ago. When I come back to Long Island to visit family I make it a point to drive out to Calverton. It's an easy drive. Just take the LIE east to William Floyd parkway north then go east on 25 A for about 10 minutes. There are a few places along 25a to buy flowers and I recommend National Florist. Once in Calverton the area is marked so you can find the section your loved one is in. If you don't know then stop in at the administration building and there is a very user friendly computer to help you. There are bathroom facilities that are spotless and plenty of benches around the graves to sit on. They do such a beautiful job of taking care of the final resting places the men and women who served our country.
