Very interresting visually and culturally. You sleep there if you wish but I don't know how much it cost. Gardens are nice and clean. You can eat on the boat. You can see all the history of Singer wich is very inetrresting.

Not as busy as the ever popular Boldt Castle, but just as interesting, if not more so historically speaking. Beautiful boat ride to Heart Island.

I guess I would have to say the boat tour that goes to Singer Castle was beautiful. If I hadn't gone to Boldt Castle, I would have been more impressed. It was a guided tour and you kept running into people on the other tours...so it was a bit congested. It was interesting and I enjoyed it. Just be aware there is a pretty steep walk from the dock to the entrance and a lot of steps to climb on the tour. They didn't use mic's so it was a bit hard to hear if you were in the back of the tour. People kept telling the guide to talk louder. It was worth seeing, but had some issues!!!

this place is typical of the wealth of the day- the tour guide was knowledgeable and worth the cost so beautiful this time of the year

Take a great boat ride out of Alexandria Bay to see this very historic castle with lots of history. Grounds are beautiful for a lovely walk around the castle. Large collection of Singer sewing machines are displayed throughout the castle.

We really enjoyed our boat ride to and from Singer Castle as well as the tour of the castle. We had purchased a combination ticket to visit here as well as Boldt castle. Both are worthwhile and interesting, but if you are short on time, Boldt Castle is a must see.

WOW hardly describes Singer Castle. Can't wait to upload all our photos & frame the print we purchased in gift shop. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable of history & architecture of castle. Awesome views of River. And, you can reserve the Royal Suite for overnight getaway or plan a wedding.

This is a great tour for anyone into history that wants to see the inside of the castle. Only offered as a guided your of the castle and island it is not the same as being able to rome through boldt castle. I always tell people if they only have time for singer or boldt that boldt is the better option for kids with short attention spans as they can rome freely and explore. Witht that said thought children will enjoy the hidden passageways in singer castle and paintings that can be removed to view guests from a hidden location

After touring the Boldt Castle this was a let down. The cost was much more for this tour. Maybe because the boat ride is longer. We were split up into groups of fifteen. We were the last off the boat and that was not a good thing. Everything was a wait because of the groups that were ahead of us and then being the last group we were rushed at the end. No time for the gift shop and no time for the rest room. The guide Sydney, a very young girl was like listening to a robot, she would spout facts out and then would ask for questions. She never could answer any of them. She was very canned. She was just the most dreary person. The castle was okay. It was really in need of a cleaning. There was a film crew there at the time which was a major distraction. If there was a secret passage you couldn't go in it. If there was a dungeon you couldn't see it. There was a clock tower that we thought we could tour, but yet again, we couldn't and we were informed the chimes were not working. Everything that would have added to the experience you couldn't see or do. Because we were the last tour group we couldn't visit the gift shop. You couldn't bring any drinks or food. It was extremely hot in the castle. You can't even tour the grounds by yourself. You could take pictures. I wouldn't recommend this tour simply because it is a waste of time and money. You should be able to have enough time to look around. This felt like a big rush and the only one getting anything is the person making money off of the tourist. I realize this is private property but why have a tour yet not allow the time to enjoy it. The boat ride was fun and we enjoyed talking to the tour guide and the captain. Too bad it fell short when we got to the main attraction, the castle.

Singer Castle is a lovely visit on Uncle Sams Boat Cruise in 1000 Islands. The owner of Singer Sewing Machines built this awesome castle as a "Hunting Lodge" , but any princess and prince would be thrilled to live in it**

We have been to Boldt Castle 3 times and decide to see what Singer Castle on Dark Island had to offer. While it is an interest castle it pales by comparison to Boldt Castle on Heart Island. If your time and budget is limited go to Boldt Castle.

This estate, based on the book, Woodstock, is a reproduction of a medieval castle from Europe. There were hidden passageways, though you couldn't go in them, which was disappointing. We were rushed by the tour guides and there was not enough time to send in each room. Disappointed.

It's a shame Canadians can't visit it from Gananoque Ontario. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. Enjoyed the castle immensely. Seriously thinking of staying over night at the castle with six people which makes it affordable and this includes breakfast and dinner and the run of the castle.

Third time visitor. I like the layout and look of the castle and the guided tour is informative. The furniture is mostly period, but everything is a bit run down and dirty. I wish they would re-upholster some of the furnishing, but the worn out furnishing (and dirty housekeeping) will not stop me from visiting.Getting to Singer is a bit of a bore, especially if you are coming from the Village of Alexandria Bay.

The castle itself is much better than Boldt Castle, as this castle appears as it was when the last owners lived there. Very interesting to see the period pieces and hear the stories of the families who lived there. The grounds were beautiful! It is located in a less popular area of the river and is a ways from the dock in Alexandria Bay, but our guide on the boat was a wealth of information. If you are interested in the history of the Thousand Islands and enjoy historic building, then this is the tour for you. If you are more interested in trendy tourist areas, take one of the other boat tours.
