Great FREE activity for the family during your early days acclimating to the altitude. Easy walk up the hill and a fun and fast ride down. Right next to the dog park too.

This is a clean public park. It's free but parking can get full. There is a dog park next to it but all fences in. We bought some sleds at Walmart for $5 and made a day of sledding. I even enjoyed going up and down the mountain. Best ever day for the kids.

Nice pavilion with clean bathrooms, wonderful dog park and general play area, plus sledding hill in winter. Often used by groups, so parking can be problematic at times.

This is a free sledding hill. There is also free parking, it is near downtown and there is a nice little dog park adjacent. The sledding hill is wide, but can get busy. The walk back up the hill will leave flatlanders breathless. Lots of fun.

Carter Park has a nice sledding area for the kids. There are no sleds to rent. You have to buy your own sleds. Parking is very limited, so go early.

After almost a week of skiing, my wife and I thought our young daughters (10, 7 y.o.) might enjoy some old-school sledding. We were right: They loved Carter Park. We picked up a couple cheapo sleds from the nearby grocery and spent an hour or two on the hill. The girls kept going up and down until they were so tired that they could barely trudge back to the car. Free (except for the cost of the sleds), well-maintained, not too crowded, stunning view of the ski mountain, and close to downtown proper. Can't ask for much more.

We went sledding several times and it was very enjoyable. Beautiful views, fun sledding hill and best of all it's free!

Instead of paying a lot of money to sled. Grab a sled from the local grocery store for about 11.00 and head to Carter park for free sledding. Great experience.

A groomed sledding hill?!! Wow! Just the right steepness! Lovely community park, dog park. Easy walk from Main St.

There was a sled in the cupboard of the condo we rented. So we took it to Carter Park to try it out. And after a few afternoons of hard work, we broke the sled. So a quick trip to the grocery store later and we bought a bigger and improved sled. And our sledding fun continued most afternoons of our trip. Loved this place!

Close to downtown and one of the only free activities to do in Breckenridge. Nice size hill with not to much traffic. Pick up a sled and head over. Lots and lots of fun at no cost. Kids and adults will feel safe and daring.

I take my dog to the Carter Park dog park and just realized how many visitors don't ever hear about the free sledding hill right in the center of town! The sledding area is part of an old ski jump that Breckenridge had like many of the mining towns in the 19th century.

Had so much fun. Never snow sled before so i decide to check it out. Felt like a lil kid. The only problem was that i brought a cheap sled amd broke. Nonetheless the less i recommend it and a phenomenal view of the mountains. I want to go back.

This park is beautiful, it has incredible views. Sledding hill in the winter, dog park, tennis courts, amazing wildflowers and biking in the summer.
