When you walk in, you are transported to the speakeasy days. Sit in a swanky chair at the bar and look at the two-sided menu of delectable cocktails. When you get your perfectly prepared drink, make sure you take a look at the tin ceiling. It's not antique, but it's still beautiful. Make sure you ask about the tours, and if you are there at the right time, take one! Very informative and you'll be impressed by the knowledge of the head distiller. When you try his spirits, you'll taste his commitment to a quality product. It's a fun and delicious stop!

Roundhouse Spirits is a hidden gem in northeast Boulder. It looks like nothing from the outside, but step in and you're transported to a classic speakeasy with an extensive cocktail menu, all using top-notch spirits brewed right there on site. Our tour, led by Ted, was informative and inspiring; it's always great to hear from someone who absolutely loves what they do and is passionate about getting every last detail exactly right. Typically I'm not the biggest gin fan (though my husband is), but THIS gin is so good I can sip it straight. They also make a killer coffee liqueur and pumpkin liqueur. Free tastes, and you can purchase full drinks, expertly made, in the bar area. The only reason I don't give this 5 stars is the lack of any real snacks to go along with the cocktails. IMO, it would be great to provide inexpensive bowls of nuts, popcorn, or pretzel sticks, or even charge a bit more for premade plates of cheese and decent crackers. Without any food at all (OK, they had cheez-its), it's easy to get hammered pretty fast! So maybe eat a snack beforehand. Or not. Just go.

Knock 4 times, then say "I love gin." The distillery door opens, and you've just found the best gin joint in Colorado...I love the unique details of the tasting room's recent remodel. Boulder's hooch history meets modern beauty in one of the coziest tasting rooms I've ever visited... And there have been - oh! - so many... Everything from the old police photos on the walls, to the wine barrel shelves, to that gorgeous bar top has a story. And who doesn't love a good story, accompanied by a great cocktail?!?Be sure to take the distillery tour, too! (For the free tastes, of course...) But, really... These guys know their stuff and love what they do. Every one of Roundhouse's small batch products is a labor of love. You can taste it. Here's where I was planning to say something along the lines of "Don't leave without trying the ---..." Problem is, I can't pick just one spirit to complete that sentence. Just do yourself a solid (in liquid form) and try 'em all. Heck. Pick your own favorite, and take it home with you. Thanks, Mike, Ted, and Mike! Roundhouse rocks. I'll be back.

Our experience at Roundhouse Spirits was terrific. Mike conducted our tour. His passion and knowledge of the products and processes at Roundhouse was evident throughout. Our group represented consumers with widely varied levels of familiarity with the subject matter, and Mike's ability to explain the historical, cultural and technical aspects of gin in an engaging and approachable way for all of us was impressive indeed. It should also be noted that all the products in the Roundhouse portfolio are exceptionally well made and delicious. I cannot wait to break open my bottle of barrel aged gin! I'm a spirits educator and scotch whisky ambassador by trade, and my hat's off to Mike and the Roudhouse Spirits folks on a job well done.

We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon at Roundhouse Spirits. We arrived early for the tour so the bar tender gave us an educated preview of the gins we came to experience. We were encouraged to pick out a cocktail from their exciting bar list to take along on the tour. Of course I had to be difficult and order off menu, but the bar tender was able to make an even better version of what I had originally wanted. The tour itself was very informative and we learned about the "symphony of herbs and spices" that Roundhouse puts into their gins. They also age their gin into an extremely unique spirit that was reminiscent of whiskey. Overall, Mike, one of the owners and our tour guide, as well as H.K. the bar tender, created a comfortable and educational environment. 10/10 would do it again :)

I thoroughly enjoyed my tour at Roundhouse Distillery. The stories made me smile. I forgot how fun great story telling can be... and I learned some really interesting things, the origin of the word spirits, the word alcohol. the rich history of gin. And, this gin is EXCEPTIONAL. My favorites are. The barrel-aged one which reminds me of the single malt whiskey, as a coffee lover I LOVED their Coffee infused one - Corretto (sp?) and the Pumpkin infused gin was a 'MUST' taste! It's like drinking egg nogg and pumpkin pie with all those spices in a glass without the heaviness and sugar - but with a nice little buzz of course :-).

A very unique environment in a very unique town. Walking into Speakeasy for the first time, I was struck by the attention to detail. The 'old world' photography on the walls, the stunning bar and the intricate copper ceiling are a part of a well thought out decor. And of course the array of unique gin cocktails was fantastic! The unique flavors offered at this bar are carefully crafted right next door in the distillery. I loved the chance to tour the operation and see how they meticulously create these tasty spirits. Ted and Mike, the owners, make a great team! Like the delicious concoctions made in the distillery, Mike concocts some excellent stories and clear explanations of how they create these spirits. I have never been a coffee drinker in my life, but Roundhouse's coffee liquor is amazing, not to mention the pumpkin gin! The staff was very generous with kindness, attention and drinks. I could not have had a better experience. Just a great place to socialize with friends!

Boulder is full of surprises and eclectic experiences — and you can add Roundhouse Spirits to the top of the list. Behind an unassuming exterior, with an old-school sign out front, hides this incredibly vibrant new space with an awesome bar, great ambiance, and some of the smooothest drinks you'll find in this foodie town. The vibe on Speakeasy night was electric. And the behind-the-scenes tour was outstanding. Mike is a master story-teller, and it's so cool to learn about how all this stuff is made. P.S. If you like tequila, you've got to try their new Agave spirits. Wow!

Awesome to take a look at how Gin is made. The Speak Easy side had amazing cocktails and a great vibe. Definitely a recommended place to check out if you're looking for a unique atmosphere!

Love this trendy but cozy atmosphere; the new speakeasy theme is super fun. The pictures of old distilleries blown up on the wall are a hoot! Locals will appreciate the new hangout, especially if they are looking to get off the beaten path a bit. Great place to bring out-of-town'ers for a little local flavor, especially if they like a good a good gin! Don't miss a chance for a tour; Mike the owner gives a great one!

I highly recommend Roundhouse Spirits. My first experience with them was before they built their new Speak Easy Tasting room which is beautiful and a great way to experience their spirits and drink mixes. I've been on the tour 2 times as Roundhouse. The tour is excellent and a lot of fun. It's fun to smell all of the botanicals that go into making their Gin. It was really neat to see a distillery in full operation and learn a bit about what it takes to distill a fine spirit. I've had Gin before but the Roundhouse Gin is as smooth a Gin as I've ever had. I also really enjoyed their "Ginsky", also called their Imperial Barrel Aged Gin. Their Coffee Corretto Liqueur was great too. They also had this great Pumpkin Liqueur that they made with fresh pressed Pumpkins from locally grown farms. It was fantastic and if you enjoy anything pumpkin, then I highly recommend it.I got the pleasure of meeting all 3 owners as well. They are all fun guys who enjoy everything to do with distilling and making a fine spirit. It was fun to sit down after the tour and enjoy a drink with them and listen to them talk about their love for distilling. I'd definitely recommend stopping by their distillery. It's a fun time and well worth the trip. I know I'll be visiting them again soon! Cheers!

I took some friends to the soft opening of their new Speakeasy bar and WOW! Just like in the old days... You find a non-descript door in a warehouse environment, knock and enter and AND...... A beautiful old school bar with plush chairs and cozy booths awaits. Awesome service, amazing drinks.... Check it out and be surprised!

Drinks first ambiance later. Superlative beverages. If you were ever gin curious now is your time to explore. The cocktails range from light and refreshing to sophisticated and sensual. And then there is just neat or on the rocks for your die hards who want to savour some exceptional spirits. For a treat I would also recommend a tasting of the Corretto. A sumptuous take on a family recipe. Ambiance is tight and sexy. You feel that Bonnie and Clyde could be planning their next heist in the booth behind you. But yet you feel that you could bring your mom here as well to chit chat with the knowledgeable staff and then possibly discuss knitting. The speakeasy is a place for all to come and find that speaking to everyone is easy. Although I would prefer you not tell all your friends because best kept secrets are just that!

I visited Roundhouse over the weekend after their recent remodel and was extremely surprised at how different the place looks. They took it from a giant warehouse with some tables and bar to a lively, authentic looking speakeasy bar. The detail that was put into the ceiling and the bar are not to be missed and the new cocktail menu fits right in. The warehouse is still available in the back room and is seen on a tour that offers tastes of all their products as well as a history lesson in gin making. Great spot to visit on a trip to Boulder! Also, I recommend "The Flapper" cocktail. Yum!
