If you like cultural things, then this should be your home base==it has the best quality and variety of cultural offerings ...probably in all of Colorado! Think of something you want to see, and it will probably come to this place. There are often 3 to 5 diffr. art exhibits on walls, in hallways, and in the main gallery going on at any one time. Some of the performances are: ballet, plays (award winning and new locals), "frequent fliers" aerial, poets, music, independent movies, and more. Yes, I've seen it all, and it is top notch quality, and at fair prices. Some arts organizations use the place for fundraiser, meetings, promotions, etc. Because of its smaller size, there is no a bad seat; and it makes it more available for smaller cultural groups to be able to (afford) to play there. -- For most performances there is a small snack bar (incl. wine), and you can take drinks (only) in the theater. Parking is easily on the street or behind the bldg.(free) I found it hard to find the place, so when you do,look around at landmarks that you are familiar with (eg, Hazels) so you can find it easier next time.

The Boulder Arts community is diverse and well-supported. This is a great place to see local artists at work.

Small exhibition, but worth to take a look at. The place was originally a Dairy Plant, and it has been remodeled. It hosts cultural groups in Boulder including the Boulder Ballet. Small exhibition area for paintings, but worth to see if you have the time.

With its mix of art, performance, and now films, The Dairy grows stronger and stronger. A regular spot for locals, The Dairy offers tourists a different perspective of Boulder, far from Pearl Street and Chautauqua. Visit their website, www.thedairy.org/exhibits/, to see if a current or upcoming exhibit or show appeals to you. The Boedecker Theater is the best thing to happen to Boulder independent films in decades. An intimate setting for movie-watching, I love to catch both the evening films and mid-day matinees.

As a resident of Boulder, I've seen several wonderful art exhibits here, attend a number of terrific live performance shows, and seen a few movies at The Dairy Center. I really like coming here, but the parking is an issue.Pros:The fine art shows are free and very well done.Love the local artists shows, especially the photos! The live performance and movies are very reasonably priced. You can take your food and drinks into the theaters. The theaters are small/intimate, so there are really no bad seats. The staff are really great people. I've only ever had an issue once that was quickly and easily handled. They have a snack bar that also serves beer and wine.Cons:The only one I can think of is the parking, or lack there of. This is mostly true when there are several events going on at the Dairy or when a popular show draws a lot of patrons. The parking lot in back, which is really on the north side, is very small and not well kept, imo. On street parking is free, but when the weather is an issue, so is the parking, especially for handicapped folks and/or the elderly. A few times, I've had to go several blocks away to find parking or park in the shopping center across the street to the east, which also doesn't have enough parking even for the business that are there. However, despite the parking issues, I still love going to The Dairy Center.

You will not accidentally find this place, you need to know about it. A dairy plant converted to an art place. Great live theater performances, and a fantastic movie theater. I don't think I have been to a more comfortable movie place - no bad seat in the house, and you can get a glass of wine to help you enjoy the film.

Best general art space in Boulder, with areas for practice, display and performance as well as a movie theatre and good little bar and open seating space in the gallery. Mixed review on the performance celections and gallery displays but that would be true for any working art space. Delighted to have this historic building preserved in this manner as such a service to the community and a great gathering place. Parking and grounds are nice as well.

Visited this art centre yesterday and enjoyed viewing the local artists works in the Dairy Centre. Always interesting to see what is happening in the art scene. The fabric art was excellent!

This is really the only arts venue for this kind of thing in Boulder. From exhibits to plays to ballet, you'll find it here. Support your local arts and come. You will be so glad you did.

Any person who loves the arts in Boulder should find out about all the great things going on at The Dairy. I remember when it was really a Dairy when I was a kid! Now it has an art cinema, ballet school, music school, art galleries, several theater spaces, and there is always something going on here. The Boulder Phil and Parlando music school have their offices here. Convenient location, lots of parking.... go to their website and sign up for their newsletter(s).

I recently went here professionally for the "Stars of Tomorrow" talent show, but was amazed by the size, cleanliness, style, and offerings of this facility. It holds the Parlando music school, a movie theater showing more artsy films, plays, dance shows, and more! It's also quite stylish, and their snack/drink offerings are wonderful and not too exorbitantly marked up. I will return!
