This was the best thing I could have done in Colorado! The drive up to the stables is so beautiful and it is an adventure in itself!!! The staff is so great and friendly and they really know how to take care of their guests. We went on the 1 hour and half ride and our guides Jenny and Kaylee were so amazing. They were so funny and full of knowledge and the trail was magnificent. It will give you that Colorado Mountain Experience that you want. The horse are so sweet. I will definately be going back to this place everytime I come back to Colorado. So don't you miss out!!!!! You wont regret it!!

This was a great experience in Colorado Springs. A must do! Stables at Broadmoor is a family ran business in the Springs. Lori was our guide for the day with her sister. They gave a history on the area and made the ride entertaining. The scenery was beautiful. The horses were lively. I also have to give props because they met us near the Broadmoor hotel and transported us to the stables since the road were slightly icy. It was a great trip and affordable. I would recommend it to anyone who loves the outdoors and animals.

We did the hour and a half ride at 10:30 on the day before Thanksgiving. The view was breathtaking, especially for us since we live in Florida. There was a snow blanket everywhere and we were on the mountain. The drive up the mountain was amazing in itself. It is a family owned operation and Laurie, Kaylee, and Jenny were so friendly and welcoming. My husband, myself and my daughter are experienced riders but anyone could do this ride because the horses are so gentle. It was worth every penny and was the highlight of our trip!

The highlight of our vacation. Yes, the road to get here was a touch frightening but if you drive cautiously you can prevent sliding down the mountain. The grounds and buildings show their age, but the star of the show is the ride. The owner here goes above and beyond to ensure everyone is tacked properly and matched with an appropriate horse. Our guide, Dennis, was a quintessential cowboy but very knowledgable about the routes and Pikes Peak forest. The horses were sure footed and even though you are on trails bordering the edge of the mountain, extremely steady. Very well worth the money and the time. Highly recommend!

What a fantastic experience for any age!! While staying at the Broadmoor, I found information on the stables and their various rides, etc. offered. The concierge took care of the booking and I was set for my two-hour guided tour. I highly recommend the two-hour over the one because it really wasn't that much more and you get to see and experience so much more!! And compared to other horseback guided trails this was by far a great value!! Hugh, the owner, picked us up and started the picturesque drive up the windy mountain road to get to the stables. Once there we met his lovely daughter Lori and she matched us to our horses. I got to ride a sweetheart named Rom which was a 22 yr old spotted Appaloosa. All the horses were extremely well behaved. Our trail guide was Chad who was just great - extremely knowledgable about the lay of the land and the history of the area. At one point we were about 10,000 feet up the mountain and to say the views were breathtaking is the understatement of the year!! Chad even stopped us at one point near the end of the ride to take a picture for each of us on our horses in this beautiful little meadow. I can't say enough about the whole experience. Thank you for making my first visit to Colorado Springs something I'll never forget!!

I took my daughter-in-law and granddaughter to this. They loved it to death. The employee (cowboy) was nice and explained everything. He was informative and helped with getting on and off. They were beginners. They put the right horse with the person by your abilities. While they were riding, I took my other granddaughter walking around. They had ponies, cows, sheep, pig and long-horn sheep. She had fun hiking around and petting the animals.I would recommend this for anyone. The drive up was pretty and the leaves on the Aspen were changing. The price was as reasonable as anyone in the area.I saw a small child (maybe 3 years) taking a supervised ride too. They had helmits for anyone that wanted one. We had no complaints.

We had a great 2-hour for my birthday on Saturday 9/13/14. We have enjoyed riding at the Stables at the Broadmoor for 5 years. Their saddles are very comfortable which is only one of the many things that keeps us coming back. Each trail guide has just a little different story to share about the history of the area and the scenery is spectacular.

This is the best place to go for a fantastic guided ride. The staff is excellent and the horses are healthy and well behaved. The guide will take you up the mountain path through the beautiful aspen and pine trees. The views are breathtaking!

I picked this stable because of the reviews on trip advisor and was not disappointed. This was my first time on a horse and the guide was very helpful and friendly. He gave a quick 1 minute lesson and off we went. He tried to chat with us along the way which was great but most of the time I was looking at the views and enjoying the peace of the wilderness. I did the one hour ride which was just enough to want just a little more. All in all a great day. Be careful on the way up and follow the directions given during your reservation!

Just completed the two hour trail ride. Everything was wonderful. From the drive up the mountain to the trail ride itself it was beautiful. The staff was excellent, and the horses are great. Very well behaved and take commands well. There are some tight passageways along the trail where you'll look at them you'll say "no way we're going to get through without falling down the side of the mountain" but the horses are very sure-footed and know the trail very well so you'll be fine. We got to a max altitude of 8,340 ft along the trail. Our guide Jenny was great; she allowed us to stop to take pictures whenever we wanted to - very accommodating! We had an 8-year old with us who had many questions and Jenny was happy to answer them all. Be advised that at the end of the 2-hour ride you'll have a tough time walking at first! The guides only work for tips and I was quite happy tipping her for the great job she did.One point to note: take a minute to make sure your saddle is a good fit. One person in our group had a saddle that was too small but once you're on the trail it's too late to fix it. It made for an uncomfortable ride.Wonderful job and thanks for a great day!

2000 feet up the mountain, very beautiful views. The road is under construction right now because of flooding last year, but safe for travel and beautiful views. The staff gives detailed easy directions, because GPS does not work up there, but well worth the drive! Super friendly staff. They have a 7 and under 20-minute ride on horses (not ponies), as well as a 1-hr or 2-hr trail ride which my 9 y/o enjoyed! The price is $44 for 1-hr or $66 for 2-hr, better than Academy Stables down below... Petting zoo as well... No food up there, just. Drinks and chips for sale. If you have little ones, bring wipes, no sinks to wash hands, just Germ-X, but my kids LOVED it, as did the adults.... 20-minute ride is $20 per person, if you want to walk next to your child, you can, you don't have to ride.

One of our friends recommended the broadmoor stables. I'm so glad we chose them. The guides were very friendly and made you feel special. They were very calm and down to earth. Wonderful experience and we came home with great memories

The drive to the Broadmoor Stables takes you on a long windy dirt road up a mountain. It is completely worth it to be able to get away from the busyness of the city. All of the staff we encountered were extremely nice and helpful. It was my husband and I and our 4 children on the trip. The kids ranged in ages from 8-18. They all had a wonderful experience and I always felt that they were safe. We have gone on horseback rides on several different vacations and this was one of the best!

While in Colorado Springs for a week-long family reunion our son booked a trail ride for eight of us at the Stables at the Broadmoor. It was a great experience. This place is halfway up the mountain in a remote area, which made the trails fun for us, but it was difficult to get there. In fact, the last five miles of grave road are not even open to the public. There was a lock on the gate, but the owner gave us the combination when we made the reservation. Our Google Maps program was very confused and we should have followed the written instructions given by the owner. Once we arrived at the Stables, however, it was a first class customer experience. Even the sign off on the Waivers form was well executed with soft lounge chairs for our use to fill out those pesky forms. Helmets were provided for everyone, although not required. There were plenty of ranch hands to get our group up and mounted in a short time, followed by clear instructions as to how to handle our horses. We had experienced riders and novice riders in our group, but everyone had an enjoyable time riding through the Rockies, with one guide leading the way and another guide bringing up the rear. The horses were well mannered and we never felt in danger in any way. The owner was very clear that our guides were compensated via tips, so there was no confusion when we went to pay. We have been on other trail rides in the Colorado Springs area, but this one was the best by far.

This family run business is a class act. From the time I called to ask questions and make my reservations to the time we drove off the property we were treated with respect, kindness, and professionalism. We visited over the July 4th weekend and took the one hour trail ride. The guides were all extremely nice and ensured that we were comfortable upon our horse (we were totally inexperienced) and answered all questions. I felt completely at ease and safe during the enjoyable ride through the forest. One thing I might add is to wear long jeans. We wore shorts and were completely comfortable but I can see how others might not like getting their legs scraped against the trees and brush along the trail. You won't catch any breathtaking visa views on the one hour trail, but you sure will on the drive up. The drive to the stables was very nice and a lot easier than I thought. Scenic, but definitely not a white knuckle drive. If your thinking about visiting, I would highly recommend doing so.
