These are the most friendly down to earth people ever! We had 2 adults, a 15yr old & a 8yr old in our group. My 8yr old can be a handful but our guide was great with him. Laughing & joking the whole time. The float trip was a blast, no problems getting booked or with the staff. We plan on doing another trip with them next year!

We did the half-day Big Horn Sheep canyon rafting trip. There were 4 of us including my 8-yr old daughter and her friend.Overall the trip was a lot of fun, no problems getting booked, very helpful and courteous when making reservations and answering all of our questions. The trip itself was great - beautiful section of the canyon with a few beginner rapids (perfect for the girls' first rafting trip) and we were on a section of river that isn't as high traffic as other areas. The only negative is that they were very busy that day and the two girls ended up needing to sit in the middle of the raft and weren't able to paddle themselves. It would have been nice to give them that opportunity, though it was busy and towards the end of the summer.

My wife and I had a great experience. We did a half day tour and had a blast. The guides were great and friendly. We saw big horn sheep on the mountain side, took a break half way down to jump off a large rock and enjoyed the Arkansas river. No complaints here.

We found this company via Amazon Local (also on Groupon). After booking our trip I started looking at reviews, I was hesitant to go through with are trip with claims of the unprofessionalism and disregard for safety. I completely disagree with the negative reviews I have read. Yes there are a small operation and home grown in Colorado, and that is what makes for a real experience. They guides were completely focused on our safety, and yes he did talk, he engaged us in conversation in a respectful manner. If you do not want to hear your guide talk then you need to go down river a raft the Gorge where there is no time for talking due to class IV and V rapids (Rock n Row also does trips there for a good price). The trip upstream is class I, II & III's. Bottom line is my wife and I fully enjoyed our time with this company and plan on using them down stream for the more intense and dangerous rapids.

We too bought the Groupon for a 1/2 day rafting. The outfit did explain the $5.00 per person river fee twice, so you are well informed of extra charges in advance. Our guide was excellent in explaining paddling techniques and making us respond to commands. We have a special needs child and he was fantastic with him and I'm sure, made up for his lack of strength. VERY RESPECFUL to all levels, sizes, ages. We would go again. The only place I can think of improvement is maybe a clean up of the vests. They are kind of smelly, but in good shape.

This was a fabulous white water trip. It was our first time doing it and we had our 13, 9 and 5 year old. There was enough fun for all ages, but not too scary for the little one. Our 13 year old smiled the whole way home. 9 year giggled the entire trip. 5 years smiled most of the trip, got a little sad toward the end because she was cold, but upon reflection said she wants to go again right now.We had the groupon and did the half day trip.Wade was THE BOMB! He made it even more fun, if that is possible. My son wants to be his pen pal. He has such a love for the river, rafting and what he does. He had funny stories and also knew a lot about the river and the area. But most importantly, he was a great coach in the water. We were in good hands. I also appreciated that he took safety seriously and had an eye on our 5 year old all the time. They are a small operation with a family feel and very attentive. Serious about safety and serious about having fun. We can't wait to go again. Buy the CD. It is worth it. High quality photos, plus really great shots. They don't have mounted cameras, but actual humans taking the shots, so I think that makes for better and more personalized shots. Relive those memories!TIP: There is a rock shop between Cotopaxi and Canon City. I recommend this stop after your rafting trip. Rocks are SO cool. We spent about 45 minutes there and everyone got a sizable rock, 5 fist sized souvenir rocks for $10. Fun way to top off the trip.

Jason was our leader/guide and he made it unforgettable. We learned a lot about history of Arkansas river and surroundings. We were allowed to jump in water from the rock; kids 7 and 12 years old loved it all. The boat was for six people and the trip on the water was for 10 miles. The cost was reasonable through Groupon. We are planning to come back to learn fly fishing with Rock-N-Row.

We bought the groupon which is how we found them. Although a small outfit, they were extremely nice, very helpful, and experienced as river guides. Our guide was awesome and made the trip lots of fun! We got to pull over and jump off rocks and swim. The photographer took lots of pictures and we were able to buy the entire disk and develop the ones we wanted ourselves. We would go back to conquer the more difficult rapids. They have great prices apart from the groupon.

We purchased a Groupon for the 1/2 day rafting trip with Rock-N-Row. All in all we were satisfied with the trip. We arrived as instructed, and only had to wait for about an hour. This did not bother us as we had this is how every adventure tour begins! They were quite busy when we arrived and we did not receieve any greeting, but as soon as they could check us in, things got better. The guides were working to get everything set up for our trip, but we were very pleased with their service. It was clear that they took safety very seriously. Once we got onto the river we fell in love with the sights. The water was at a lower level, but we didnt mind as it was our first time. There was some playful water wars during the trip and even though the water was freezing, it was fun! We really enjoyed the rock that you could jump off. Nice little stop and very fun. The only thing we were a little bummed about was the photos. We had been informed of the photo cd before the trip, but wanted to wait until we saw the photos first. Sadly, there was less than five photos of us. Obviously we did not purchase them. All in all, the facility had a rustic mountain charm, the guides were fun and laid back and the sights were gorgeous. It was a great experience!

First and foremost - these guys get the job done. I haven't rafted in 41 years, last time was when I was 10 - you do the math, and my girlfriend is 56. Anyway, young or old, this company accommodated everyone (as there were also children that looked about 10 years on the rafts in our tour). EVERYONE on their staff was friendly, helpful, and as professional as I would expect, including the bus driver that took us to the launch. The equipment - rafts, vests, & helmets - were all in perfect condition. OUR raft Guide, Nick, was an excellent guide/outfitter. He was polite, conversant, and knowledgeable about what he was doing on the raft. Their facility is nothing to write home about, but I didn't care - it got the job done. I had to leave the key fob to my near-new Corvette with these guys, and my wallet inside the car with about $300 in cash. Nothing was touched, moved, or disturbed - I couldn't have been more pleased. Anyway, I would recommend this company any day of the week !! (Just br sure to being a complete change of dry clothes because once you're done, it's like you got into the shower wearing your clothes (hahahahahahaaa). Enjoy !!!

Staff was more than friendly. We had 3 kids under 12 and upper Big Horn was perfect for them. Would use Rock and Row again! Great value.

Had a great time rafting, the boat leader was knowledgeable and friendly and the trip was great. The only reasons I gave 3 stars instead of 5 were, once we got there we were informed we had to pay extra for wetsuits, wasn't too much just would have been nice to know up front, also we payed 35 $ for a cd with pictures of our trip but when we got home discovered that the cd was blank! I emailed them and they sent us a new cd.... with pictures from the wrong boat! I emailed them back and informed them AGAIN of their mistake and they told me to mail the wrong cd back. As of now I still do not have my cd and im sure they are not going to reimburse me for the cost of mailing their mistake back to them. Kind of silly if you ask me.

Groupon offered a rafting trip for about half the price of other rafting companies in the Arkansas River area, and so my daughter and two of my grandsons took advantage. The facilities were subpar with other rafting companies that we have experienced. However, the important points of having safety oriented guides and good equipment is where this company shines. We opted for the approximately two-hour trip down Big Horn Sheep Canyon and the guide was absolutely superb. So, if one can deal with less than ideal facilities, this company may be a good option.

After reading some of the more negative reviews on here I was at first apprehensive about this company. I had found this company on Groupon, and was happy since I was considering doing this route anyway. It was my girlfriends first time rafting and this was a calmer route than many of the others. The first company we had looked into gave her problems about the weight restriction. When we called Rock-N-Row they assured us it was no problem whatsoever. After reading reviews on here I begin to doubt the company and even considered postponing the trip and just finding another company. I am soo glad we did not. We went into this with low expectations and were surprised the place even had a sign let alone a shop to buy t shirts and such. Yes you can tell it is family owned, and yes it was a little awkward at first walking in and checking in. But the trip was excellent. They were respectful and didn't say anything about my girlfriends weight just put our equipment on same as anybody else. Everything from our guide safety briefing to the trip itself was the quality you'd get from a much bigger company. Everything was handled very personally and professionally and me and my girlfriend had an excellent date and first time rafting for her! Even at regular price I would use this company again!(our trip costed a third of what we would've paid!) That's all I have to say, just thought I'd get on and write this so people can hopefully make a well informed decision if they too stumble across Rock-N-Row.

I've been whitewater rafting for years and this company seems to be up to par with the rest. I saw a previous poster that said it was a dump but who cares what it looks like? It's a little building to store the life jackets, helmets, and rafts. The real thing to be concerned about is your personal safety and the guides were definitely vigilant and safe with us on the river.NOTE:We had to pay $5 per person extra for park fees to access the river. If you wanted a picture package you could buy that for around $30. If you know anything about spring melt and water levels, you would know that Aug is a very CALM time of month. If you want crazy class 3-4 rapids, you have to go during May or early June.
