We visited with 6 small children 2-8 yrs. old. At the time there was a ranger on duty to answer questions about the overlook and the park. As some of our kids were working towards their Jr. Ranger badges during our day and a half visit, some of the kids got really friendly and asked a lot of questions, which the ranger was kind enough to answer. So far we have yet to meet a ranger who was not friendly to our kids. We saw a few different bird species. Not very crowded and the views are spectacular.

This gives you a superb view of the canyon right down to the floor. Safety rails but not wheelchair accessible. Step carefully.

In my opinion this is the prime place from which to view this natural wonder of a canyon. In addition to the photos you'll take from the overlook, don't forget to get one back toward the overlook itself from terra firma to show your friends, so they can say, "Wow, you really stood there?!?" Actually it's not at all scary, unless you have more than a passing fear of heights.
