allandale mansion

I have no opinion of this site. It is not really historic. Lots of events are held here though. It is a very nice event site.

If its Christmas time and you want to see beautiful lights and trees come to kingsport and visit this place. Only three dollars per person bring cash. Well worth it.

The mansion looks like a historic Georgian mansion but actually was built in 1949 by a local businessman. What is most impressive was the scrupulous attention to Georgian architectural design. The curator took some time from his busy day to discuss the building and the family that built and lived in the mansion before it was given to the city of Kingsport.

Allandale is beautiful. The buildings and grounds allow one to imagine what life may have been like in another time. You just know you are in Tenn.. Enjoyed a wonderful June wedding on the grounds. Stageing was under a huge oak tree with limbs shading the afternoon sun. Glorious.This is a large property with many different areas for events. Parking was close and plentiful. What a great place for a beautiful wedding. PS. It was a great day, temps in the 70"s, not a cloud in the sky.

Architecture is nice, house is showing its age. Guides are knowledgeable. It would be a better tour, if there was a garden guide also. Barn was not open for tour.

Allandale is a beautiful spot year round. Spring and Summer are the perfect seasons for outdoor weddings/bbq's/reunions at Allandale with several locations to choose from allowing a host of themes for your party. FunFest brings the dog show and car show to the front lawn of Allandale each year; and the new outdoor amphitheater was completed this past year bringing concerts to this beautiful locale. Visit during the holidays to experience an array of ornately decorated trees.

We toured the house and had dinner there. The house was beautiful but the food was cold and very salty.

Christmas tour here is beautiful. Trees in every room. Nice place to take pictures of your kids all dressed up. They also serve apple cider and cookies during the Christmas tour.

The grounds are very pretty but the main house has that moldy smell. The women who run the place keep it clean and nice. Windows don't open, has the old two wire electric outlets so adapters are required if you want to plug in anything.

It's a beautiful place, nice place for a wedding, another Prince and Princess Place. My daughter and I just got too hot and left early

A beautiful mansion situate on beautifully maintained grounds will make a wonderful impression. It is no wonder that many couples choose to take their wedding vows there. The Christmas tree display is great.

Love this place. Great to check out or rent for parties, wedding etc... I rented the barn for a Sockhop. It was perfect. They were wonderful to work with. The grounds are gorgeous! The prices are reasonable considering. You won't be disappointed.

Lovely place for a wedding or reception. The grounds were nice and parking adequate. Lots of nice places for taking pictures.

I have shot many weddings there for my Brides and every-time I shoot, The staff is very rude to me. When hired by a bride and then arrive to do my job on the wedding day, I do not expect to be treated rudely and I have seen my brides treated this way. Also, I have shot many free sessions there as well and do a lot of NON Profit photography there and the staff has ran two of my guest off and even down to taking my tag number. They didn't even ask, they just assumed. The lady with the long blonde hair maybe in her 40's tried to tell me the Mansion was privately owned and all photography must pay a $75.00 fee. To my knowledge it belongs to the City of Kingsport which is why there isn't a gate fee with a toll. I refuse to pay 75.00 while it looks the way it does mud everywhere , fish have layed dead on top of the ponds all summer , and it needs a lot of work. However, I live in the city of Kingsport and if I want to shoot free pictures there I will. Allendale can keep in mind I have sent at least 23 Brides to get married there and no longer will send them buisness because of there rudeness. I have brides all next year that I will try to get them to book somewhere else.
