This is the 4th time I've been to the Heritage Festival at Ames Plantation, and it gets better every year. There were many more vendors and lots more to do. Much of it was educational--lots of history of the Civil War. There were many more people there as well. The only bad thing that happened was it started to rain, and everyone was trying to leave at the same time. this made a huge jam of people trying to get on buses which would take us back to the parking area.

My whole family went to the Heritage Festival at Ames Plantation last October. It was the third time I've been. First time for my sister and her family. There was so much history! It was wonderful. We spent the day looking at all the exhibits, bought a few souvenirs, and saw some family and friends there.there were several bluegrass bands set up and there was a representation of a wedding (during the civil war). All in all it was fun. Can't wait to go back next year.

Rolling hills, bird dogs and quail. What more needs to be said about this place? Beautiful country and a great place to visit.

We took relatives from Colorado there to give them a feel for a Southern plantation. It was wonderful to be able to get and walk around the plantation, looking at the apple trees, the different sheds and barns and the many cabins and out buildings. My relatives enjoyed it, and I enjoyed seeing the different gardens as well.

They have an event in the fall that is wonderful! They bring in all kinds of craftsmen and such doing things like music and quilting and furniture building as they were done many years ago. It's way out in the countryside and really feels like you're going back in time. Always a fun and happy day!
