Spend time soaking in the awesome work of nature and put the camera down. This is another place to just soak in the beauty of it all.

The driving in Bryce for what you see and is available right from the parking lots is wonderful, especially if you can't walk far.

Great views, but not one of the parks highlights. If you only have one day in Bryce skip it, if you are here longer it would be worth a stop.

The car drive to Zion Nat. Park was 30-40mins away. The disadvantage of living here was not being able to see the sunrise/sunset within the park.

This is one of the panorama-points in Bryce Canyon where you can see a lot of colors together ... the red and white of the rocks and the green of the Ponderosa trees! Unfortunately this time, when we did the scenic view, some of the trees around the street were burning up ... It's so sad ...

Ponderosa Canyon is a canyon and an overlook within Bryce Canyon National Park along the southern portion of the scenic drive. The view from here is not as amazing as many of the other overlooks in Bryce Canyon but it does provide one with a view of some Hoodoos, pine covered foothills and part of the Grand Staircase Escalante in the distance. Just to the north of the overlook, one can access the Under-the-Rim Trail by using the Agua Canyon Connector Trail. To visit the overlook, I would recommend starting by driving the park's scenic road to the very end at Rainbow Point in the afternoon, hike the short but excellent Bristlecone Loop Trail (~1m / 1.6k) then work one's way back, stopping at each of the overlooks, including Ponderosa Canyon, in the late afternoon when the lower angle of the sun improves the color of the rock.

There is no trail, there is a parking lot near the Ponderosa Marker. There is a balcony and you have a nice view.

Purpose built car park blocks the view as you drive past on the road but take a little time to get out of the car and up to the balcony and you will be rewarded with some beautiful views. For us the sky was azure blue and the green of the distant pine forests gave the orange, yellow and whites of the rocks more focus. Really nice from this point. Also for the adventurous of you there is a connecting trail that joins Agua Canyon just to the left of the point as you look out over the canyon. It is a short climb then a fairly even path until you connect with the 'Under the Rim Trail'. It was just a little too hot for us to attempt this one but it did look inviting.
