Really enjoyed this little gem of a golf course and the delcious meal we had after a morning round of golf. Had Reuben sandwich that would challenge any good deli Reuben any day. Lush greenery surrounds the dining area accented by vibrant floral displays that create a relaxing dining experience. The food was great and the golf entertaining.

Had a chance to play this course twice last weekend. A good course is always better the second time when you know what is around the corner. Course is in good shape. Greens are fair, tee boxes are clean.A big however is-- give us more yardage markings. The tee boxes rarely gave us a marker that we could count on and there were no sprinkler head markings in the fairways. Minor point, but quite frustrating.Otherwise, nice staff, and good course on the way to Rehoboth.

We finally stopped at the beautiful Rookery South golf course and played 9 holes Easter weekend. Wow was it a nice course, club house and grill, and pro shop. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a great 9 hole round of golf and course was lush and green. Plenty of wide fairways, water features, dog legs, and nature located near Rehoboth (where we were staying). We will definitely play The Rookery South again and perhaps the Rookery North, located 9 miles up Rte 1.

Played a quick nine holes here late one in early August. The course has a great layout and is a convenient location. Tee times available on golf now make it more affordable and the staff was very friendly.

Had to chuckle when I saw a preceding review mention the ducks at the Rookery. The ducks are only a part of the show at The Rookery. They certainly are not shy. The Rookery is an established, older course on US route 1, north of Lewes, De. We arrived on time for our 10:18 am tee time, and were promptly out to play. Like almost all the personnel I met on this recent trip, Delaware and Maryland employees are friendly and courteous, and full of information. In New Jersey, we practice "Service with a snarl" so it's just great to be among such accommodating people. The course was in great shape. It is pretty open, and forgiving with a variety of tee boxes to fit all players. The day we were there, pace was fine. It was a weekday. I would say roughly a 4 hour game. There are a few holes that have to be played strategically and require layups-no grip it and rip it on them unless you are wearing a Superman cape, Rough was manageable; greens were excellent and readable. Course is pretty wide open, and if (when) you miss the fairway you still have a decent shot to not kill your score. We did not try the dining room, but had a great hot dog afterward. It was kind of self serve-for hot dogs and coffee in the bar area, but everything you needed was there. Certainly hit the spot without having to sit down and order at a table. Bar is well stocked. Bartender was also helping in dining room, but was more than friendly and had a great attitude. (Possibly named Victoria). All in all, for the price of the round, compared to more expensive courses in the Garden State of NJ., if it were not for the cost of the ferry ride, I would definitely go back again. We will probably keep it on our list for out next golf outing. Course is scenic, and well kept. As for the ducks, well that was the only "birdie" I saw all day.

I have been there serveral times for their Sunday Brunch. It is hot and seems fresh. It is a great value for the money.

The setting is nice and the food is good too. Have been there twice now and they offer a good variety of food for lunch...from sandwiches to full meals. Good for the price and nice waitresses. It is worth a ride there from Lewes, Rehoboth or Milton if you are visiting. I plan to go back.

First time playing the South course - it was in great shape!. Had a 10:27 am tee time on a Saturday - started on the back nine - very full tee sheet must everything moved along. We finished our round just at 4 hours. Reasonably priced. Pro shop had a good selection of women's clothing. Staff were very friendly. Watch the ducks - they will come right up to your cart looking for hand outs - I did notice the cart lady was feeding them so they are very used to golfers - several fairways had ducks napping right in the middle! They will not move for you :-)
