At the base of the Fenwick Island Light house, this marker gives you the opportunity to take in a bit of the creation of the states and the historic Mason-Dixon Line.

This is an original marker from the survey of the Mason-Dixon Line between Maryland and Delaware (at that time part of Pennsylvania). Nothing fancy about the site, but much nicer on site than locked away in a museum. Right by the Fenwick Lighthouse.

A pleasant surprise. We did not know how the border between Delaware (originally Pennsylvania) Was created. Very interesting historically. You don't have to worry about whether it is open or closed. You can view it anytime!!

The marker sits under this plaque in front of the Fenwick Lighthouse, basically in the sidewalk. Not an interesting setting, but so much better here where it means something, rather than in a museum. As a remnant of a time before the Ocean City strip became such an ugly place, its worth a drive by.
