A very nice slow moving river that traverses for miles across northern Idaho. The water is exceptionally clear. Lots of fly fishermen and women.

It's one of the most beautiful trips you will have on a boat ride. Some people kyak, some sea doo... Head to St Mary's and have a cocktail!

great water, especially above Calder. so wonderful when you get above crazy boating traffic. Look 4 rock barbs sticking out into river, they are unnatural fish holding areas.

We have a log home on the river and have spent many weeks there. The Joe is one of most wonderful places to spend a relaxing vacation. The beauty of the river is awesome in any season. Fly fishing for the native cutthroat is a thrilling experience which can be found all along the Joe. No matter what your reasons are for visiting the ST Joe River it is a experience not to be missed.

The St. Joe River is one of the best fly fishing destinations for cutthroat trout in the United States.Scenic Drive, beautiful forest, emerald green waters and plenty of access for the avid fisherman.

While I am not expert in the region I will share that is river valley is majestic and breath taking. Keep your eye open, wild life abound especially in the early and late sun hours. This river valley has deep history in logging, and some mining. If you 4x4 ATV plenty of tremendous logging road to explore. This river is said to be the only river that runs into a lake as in CDA Lake and flows straight to the mouth of the Spokane river the outlet to CDA Lake.Make an early morning adventure as it is 2-3 hours to begin your journey from Spokane. Bring adventure, smiles, and camera.Go Explorer........The world is so awesome.Mind you, if you go to the woods, take a moment, be foolish and give a tree a hug. Try it.

Lived in down-state Idaho at the time, now in Michigan. We chose dinner trip, Labor Day weekend 2012. ('12 not available in date bracket so chose '13: they should give more options) Casual, relaxing and scenic. Are planning on taking again this summer (2014) with two other couples from Michigan ( We are all early '70's). Does that tell you what we think of it?

I've flyfished this river for years. After a low from overfishing a few years back, the river has come back strong. Be sure to practice Catch & Release to ensure good fishing for the future. Nice fat native browns are yours to be had here. Use orange double humpy with a zebra midge dropper for optimal results.

Enjoyed a day floating down the St. Joe river with guide, Nick, who's passion for fly fishing is evident. He patiently showed us some basic skills and skillfully guided us into areas where they were biting. Really fun day! Thanks Nick!

The 6 hour river cruise has beautiful scenery. For a relaxing afternoon soaking up some sun, chatting with family or friends, or just relaxing this is great. Plan accordingly if you take children. 6 hours will need some additional entertainment, and snacks. They did allow people to bring their own food, and the bar had chips and candy for sale. The fried chicken lunch was ok, but the portions were a little small. The information about the lake & river is given over loudspeaker, that often wasn't loud enough to hear. It was a unique way to enjoy the scenery, and time with my family.

We took the Sunday 1/2 day boat trip from CDA up St. Joe river. Buy the lunch option. Bring sun screen and a hat. Just a very beautiful experience. A must do when visiting CDA.

It is called the"Shadowy St. Joe". Looks like the Idaho version of the bayou. Ideal for small boat or canoe exploring. Empties into Lake CoeurD'Alene. Good picnic spots and Heyburn State Park is very nice.
