Nice idea but does not appear to have had any updating or investment in 50+ years. Very very challenging to find since there is no road signage.Pools are nice, but lockers and common space are dirty. Had to stop the water slide to pick up a broken piece of concrete from the pool.Nice spot on river; has potential to be much nicer

I've been to Heise Hot Springs campground a few times, though I've never indulged in the swimming or other activities offered there. The area is peaceful and nice. The campground is a well shaded area with the Snake River running past it. It's a great area for a picnic or gathering. However, expect to pay to utilize anything in the area. The swimming, mini golf, and zip line are all overpriced.

My favorite at Heise Hot Springs is the pizza at the restaurant. It is very good. The cookie and brownie desserts are also worth the drive. We live in Idaho Falls, about twenty minutes away, and we love to come here on a summer evening for pizza. We sit outside and enjoy the rushing river and cool green lawns. The hot pools are nice and hot. We often visit them in the winter. The pools and the dressing rooms are very basic. However, they have the necessities. It is a great place to take kids in the winter for some physical activity.

Its extremely dirty, and needs a lot of repair. The stairs leading to the kids pool are rough on your bottom. The changing rooms are covered in hair and the bathrooms are small, and dirty. The upside is that the water is nice, and the hot pool feels wonderful on the body. The staff is decent depending on who is working. This is a decent place to go soak and have fun, but needs a lot of cleaning and repair.

Dirty bathrooms, poor upkeep and maintenance, disrespectful employees. Don't recommend wasting your money or time.

Our family spent many hours at the pools yesterday and had a blast! They loved the slide and the diving board as well as the hot pool. It is funky, but these types of family places are such gems and the fabric of the Northwest. If you are looking to spending the night in the area, try the Aspen Grove Inn. You cannot find better accommendations than here. Puts all other cabins to shame and breakfast is included!!

Great place to take the family when it's cool outside. The hotsprings pool is partially shaded if you are getting too much sun. Nice little end for small kids, the deep end is 5ft. The hot pool is separate and very nice to warm up in. The changing rooms are primitive.

We found this place, actually we were taken to it, by a local guy while walking across America on The Great American Walkabout. I right about the guy in my book, and talk about how he took us to the best places around, and this is one of them. You would never know about it if not for the locals, this is a great place to come and hang out. They have hot springs and pools, mini golf and other attractions. But the most important thing is, Great Pizza! Our friend drove us for miles just to get us the best pizza in Idaho! Their lodge is huge, warm, and inviting, a great place to come in the winter. They are surrounded by the natural beauty of the mountains around them. Watch out for snakes though if you are hiking in the area!

Small town fun for all. If you don't want to lounge by the pool head on over to the golf course. Before it's time to leave make sure to visit their pizza parlor. The pizza is excellent!

The hot springs here are particularly hot, running about 108, and have a very high mineral content, including a strong sulfur component. The rest of the area including the pools is not particularly attractive or enticing, but it's a good place to take a soak if you're passing by.

Heise has a large swimming pool, great pizza at the golf course cafe. A golf course and whether a boating enthusiast or love fishing you will find their waterways inviting and beautiful scenery. Remember your sunblock and insect spray in the hot months. Make sure you make a reservation for larger group areas, they tend to fill up fast.

This is a nice family friendly swimming pool. The hot pools and heated outdoor pool are great to visit in the winter. In the summer, the main pool with a water slide is fun for kids

Our family (self, DH & DS) met up with an old family friend to spend the day at Heise Hot Springs. She had been many times before, but it was our first visit. We loved it! They have a little something for everyone, from hot thermal pools (107 degrees the day we went - hotsa!) to a 350' waterslide. Their summer pool is the biggest one, and is open seasonally. The hot pool apparently is open year-round. For $15 you get a full day pass to all the different facilities; if you're not into the waterslide, you can do a full day pass with "everything but" for a little less $$. They provide lockers for a nominal fee and have a snack bar on-site as well. We made use of everything - yes, DH & I dragged our almost-50 selves on the waterslide, several times in fact! Our son probably logged over 100 runs on that thing. It was fun. The thermal pool was running 107 degrees (F) on the day of our visit; I guess the normal temp is about 104-105. I was able to get in it all the way, but was one of only a few. I loved the way my skin tingled, but could have done without the sulfur smell. You get used to that after awhile. DH & DS used the snack bar and we all went to the Pizza Parlor (which I've reviewed separately) after our day at the springs. The biggest complaint (and it wasn't very big) I had about Heise is that adjacent to the hot pool there is a "kiddie" pool, and lots of "kiddies" were in it that day throwing stuff around. At one point some kid's toy almost hit my friend and I in the face, but fortunately the lifeguard was quick to step in and tell him to be more careful. The facility was also a bit hard to find as some of the signage has been covered over by tree foliage, but it didn't take long to get our bearings. Once we found it, we enjoyed Heise Hot Springs immensely and I am personally hoping that we get a chance to go again.
