Great Lake, several boat launches, fish were uncooperative. The town is quaint and friendly. Don't look for your favorite chain restaurant, because there aren't any but give the local places a chance and you won't be disappointed.

We lived in Iowa 1 year and realized that we had to visit the Okoboji region, and once we came up to the area we realized that Spirit Lake is the better of all the lakes in the area unless you like all the screaming kids, fairs, loud motorcycles and lots of people. that is the other end of the "vacation" region.

Great little parks, fish hatchery, and Old Town and drive around the entire lake. Did not antique so cannot comment on that.

It was close to town, big sites with electric, water and sewer all at your site. The bike trail is paved, very nice and dogs are allowed on a leash. We went to a couple new brewery's that was fun, along with a farmers market, Arnold's park and some boating all in one weekend.

Fun with friends at West Lake Okoboji. Enjoyed a cabin stay and boating. Wthile in the lakes area, visit the amusement park at Arnolds Park. Have a nutty bar and watch the sunset from the dock.

There are a few little shops in Spirit Lake that are worth visiting. One More Time, This and That, Fisher's Consignment, Red Door...that will get you started.

Easy to get around. The hospital is right off the main drag. Everyone seems so friendly. The only thing I would do away with , is that stupid 8 way stop by Walmart ! GET A STOP LIGHT !!!!!!!

Love the area! Great hideway in the middle of the country! Tons of things to do if you like the out doors.

There is so much to do in spirit lake and it is a great place for the family.

I would like to see Spirit Lake thrive; it has a great location-nice lake, but the town itself is disappointing.

Nice place to visit year around! Great restaurants and always something to do in/on the Iowa Great Lakes. Small town friendly people with lots to offer.

Try the north side of the physical Spirit Lake. Talk about a relaxing experience. Beautiful water, friendly people, all the conveniences.Even if you can’t afford, or don’t know somebody with a house in one of the lakeshore communities, you can still experience the getting-away-from-it-all feeling of the Spirit Lake area at Mini-Wakan State Park or for camping, try Loon Lake Campground, just a few miles north over the Iowa/Minnesota border.Spirit Lake may be one of the best-kept secrets in Iowa travel. It has all the amenities of its more-famous neighbor Okoboji, but Spirit Lake township has preserved the beauty, and ambiance of rural living around Iowa's largest lake. You can ride your bicycle all around Spirit Lake, thanks to the wonderful new bike trails the town built, and there is even a winery, Little Swan Lake Winery, about 15 minutes away. Tons of stuff to do, nice little shops too!
