Although I played as a single, the experience was memorable. The bent grass fairways and greens were in top shape for September. The landing areas are generous. The elevation changes throughout the course make shot/club selection a challenge. Errant shots can potentially find the ample fescue/native grass areas so don't get too attached to your golf ball. However, players of all levels can enjoy this course; check your ego in the parking lot, choose the right set of tees, insure you have enough golf balls and beverages and most of all, enjoy your round. Playing here is a top notch experience well worth the drive and green fee.

A must stop when in Burlington. One of the top rated courses in the state. Always a first rate experience when I go. The views are amazing, this is a well thought out course.

Spirit Hollow in Burlington, Iowa, may be the best-maintained golf course I've ever played. Not one blade of grass out of place on a single green. Our round began perfectly with a friendly started who drove out to the first tee to help us first-timers find our way and even suggested a second tee shot when we dribbled one (as per usual). Beautiful layout through bluffs and valleys. We'll have to find reason to get back there.
