I appreciate the paved walking circle as well as the well-groomed paths and the several benches to rest on.

So many activites during the year. Maple syrup making in the sprin, kids activites learning area. You can just walk well marked trails, cross country etc. No dogs in side main park but beautiful walk around on solid walkway. You may see many turkey, deer, coyote, birds - many varietys. Check out the bee hive on side of building. So cool in so many natural way's.

Tamarack Nature Center would be a Regional Park in most parts of the US. You're surrounded by nature and it's never crowded. Check beforehand if you go with your family since Tamarack has lots of special events that are educational fun for children. My wife and I hike and ski at Tamarack and simply love the place!

I've lived in the WBL area for over 25 years. I grew up on the north end so going to Tamarack was really not that big of a deal, being I already lived in the woods. Now that I have moved from the area, I find Tamarack to be my connection with mother nature. To be centrally located within a few sprawling communities, it is a little piece of heaven on earth, if you are a nature buff that is. There is a brand new renovated kids play and discovery area that attracts local schools, families, and daycare centers. There are paved trails and also snow country ski trails that make great hiking trails in the summer. If you are looking to be one with nature, yet not have to drive "up nort", this is the place for you. I love being there in early spring to see all of the ferns under the forest canopy come up. To be around when the dragonflies hatch. The fox, turtles, deer, birds, and other wildlife are at home here. The fall is just as beautiful as you walk through "Oak Hill" and see all of the leaves change with the warm breezes, truly breathtaking! In the summer, on the back trails make sure to bring bug spray, thats for sure. I have attached a link of the park map, enjoy! https://parks.co.ramsey.mn.us/tamarack/Documents/TNCtrailmap.pdf

Only had a short amount of free time while in town for a wedding. This was a good choice. Very nice area. Friendly staff. Great way to spend a fall day

Well worth a visit, whether you live nearby or are visiting. Tamarack Nature Center offers many miles of hiking and skiing trails, a magnificent children's play area, and a fine park building. An accessible, paved hiking trail offers the opportunity to experience a central part of the nature area. Other trails take one through bogs, woods, fields and hills. Part of the nature area is a bit too close to the I-35 freeway, but most of the trails offer a sense of serenity. I have been coming here for 30 years, and have enjoyed the focus on simple nature all along. Highly recommended.

I loved visiting the nature center with my two children. They have a log are where the kids can play on logs and with sticks, a garden area where kids and adults can help maintain the garden, composting, pulling weeds, and even try a fresh grown berry that they pick. From the garden they have a stream that runs through for kids to play in and a sandbox with a water feature. Rocks for climbing with caves to explore. Check the hours for the discovery garden before you go and bring extra clothes for the kids:)If you are there when the discovery garden is closed the trails are beautiful and full of wildlife so either way it's a great place to visit and you can't beat the price of a donation!

My grandkids love Tamarack. Lots of interesting activities for families including learning about critters in the area, walking through the woods, rustic playground and urban garden.

You can walk at your own pace and see nature. It can be exhilarating. Sometimes sitting on a bench is the answer.

I like Tamarack Nature Center because it is close to our house, which makes it convenient when I want to go cross-country skiing. Unfortunately there are several cons to Tamarack. The quality of the trail is often deficient. It is not groomed as often as it should be and the trail is often broken with snowshoe and boot tracks. The trail is also frequently littered with dog poop, which is annoying to ski over. Ultimately, the quality of your experience will depend on the day and the amount of snow. My last ski here was not great. The trail was icy and the tracks were virtually non-existent. I'm praying for more snow so I can go back and try it again under better conditions.

Great outdoor spot tucked away in the city of White Bear Lake, but close enough to downtown and/or freeway/35E. Alot of walking paths, woods and things for kids to do year round. Great for cross-country skiing too.
