The times we were there, the slots were VERY tight. Can't even give you enough money to play a little time and keep your attention. We had a hotel coupon and we had to go to the Casino Guest Services to validate the coupon and then had to go back to the hotel desk to turn it in to get a room. Sounds backwards to me. When we in the Casino, the bar waitresses didn't come around very often. I had to go to the bar and get a drink. The casino chairs were filthy and the casino was very smoky. The ventaliation isn't keeping up. Plus both times, I have had players sit down next to me and start smoking like a steam engine. Didn't even bother to try to get the smoke to go in a different direction. We are card holders and we have now thrown away our cards and will NOT EVEN be going back.

My family and I stopped buy on a rainy day while traveling in Northern Minnesota. It was very smoky and a little small, but the food was good and we enjoyed ourselves for the hour or two we were there.

The buffet lunch was ok. The broasted chicken was very good, The casino smelled of cigarette smoke, so we passed through quickly.

I enjoy casinos once in awhile so I also enjoyed this one. They had a good selection of games and easy parking. It was very smoky but that's to be expected! I also won a few dollars - that helps!

We were very impressed. Our room was very clean and extremely comfortable. The staff at the snack bar and front desk were very helpful with any questions we had. The casino was clean and well kept. The snack bar offered a wide variety of items, so we didn't have to go to the buffet for a heavy meal. The second day we were there, they closed the snack bar for remodel. Beautiful, quiet area. Too bad it isn't actually on Leech Lake. 5miles away is the town of Walker. Quaint, clean and has great shopping. There is a wonderful city park that you can sit quietly in and just watch the lake. A few miles past the hotel there is a boat ramp/roadside park that was great.

This casino for not being that old is disgustingly dirty! Carpet, walls and everything in it is so smoke filled that you want to make sure you wear OLD clothes in it! New chairs were put in a few years ago but there seem to be so many sloppy smokers in this place that they continually burn the chair seats. Some of the older chairs look like people have puked on them! DOES ANYONE EVER CHECK THESE OUT AND HAVE THEM REPAIRED AND CLEANED???? THAT QUESTION IS FOR CASINO MANAGEMENT. Maybe someone should go visit some other casinos in MN to see how a casino should be run! Also go check out Black Bear Casino & visit their buffet. Not bad for a small casino! PS: Ashes could be wiped up once in a while by the custodial workers more often. Agree with all on the fact gaming regulators NEED TO STOP BY UNEXPECTEDLY!

A fine place to gamble and stay if you are in northern Minnesota. The casino is rather dreary, lacking natural light and filled with cigarette smoke, and some pretty downtrodden people. Go with a group of friends and I am sure you will have a good time though.

The hotel room was OK. The room that we stayed in didn't have thick curtains to keep out the light during the night so it was bright even during the night. The second, third and fourth floors are non-smoking while the fifth floor was smoking. The casino was smoking with non smoking section outside the casino floor in front of the store. There was only 24 machines in the non-smoking section. Since 3/4 of the hotel is non-smoking, there should be a small section for the smokers with a large section for non-smokers. The restaurant had a buffet which was ok. We had plenty to eat and to choice from. The swimming pool and hot tub was nice. My only complains are that there should be a bigger non-smoking section and the windows in the hotel room should have heavy drapes that can be closed so it is dark at night.

The staff was very friendly and helpful at checkin. The room was nice enough, although kinda pricey. We joined the Player's club to get an additional discount on the room..... this is where the nightmare began.Spent the next hour plus bouncing back and forth from one line to another. had to take a pink slip back to the player's club for the rewards (5 dollars free play and discount for food) my card wouldn't work, the free play was not there, and it also didn't work at the buffet. Then back and forth to the hotel and the player's club. By the time they got it all straightened out, (their mistake) it was too late to get to the buffet, ended up eating at the little grill there. (overpriced and not very good) Most respectable businesses would make amends for messing up like this, we barely got an apology, let alone ANY compensation for our wasted time and efforts, AND frustration. Top it off with the tightest slots I have ever encountered in a casino..... just consistently lost,..... machine after machine... (makes me wonder just how is this place "regulated?") I should have just stayed at a less expensive motel and simply "mailed them my check."

I would not recommend this place to anyone! We had nothing but problems from the first 10 minutes we arrived. First off we went for the We-Fest karaoke contest, an event that had been booked there for at least 6+ months. So we arrive on July 4th, there website states the room prices and the discounted prices with a players club card, so we went to get players club cards before check in, went to check in and they state no discounts on a holiday, so we said ok how about Tomorrow evening which isn't a holiday, they informed us it won't apply since it's a holiday weekend they cannot apply the discount so we paid the $268 for a 2 night stay. As we are taking our luggage to our room we are stopped by security at the elevator and they informed us as of July 1st alcohol is not allowed to be brought up to the rooms, unless you purchase it in the casino in which you are allowed one cup per person up to the rooms..so the outside alcohol we did bring we were told we have to take it to the car and leave it or it will be confiscated, so we went to the parking lot in which security came and informed us that we cannot consume it out in the parking lot either. At this point I pointed out that we were not informed of this rule change at the time the reservations were made, nor does it state this anywhere on the website. So I asked if we can be refunded if we choose to go elsewhere, and they informed me that we would not because we have already been in our rooms and put our stuff in there. So we decided to do the obvious and stay and try to make the best of it. At check in we also asked if we could have rooms on the same floor as the people we went with and the old lady at the front desk said they were booked so they couldn't put us together. So when we went to one of the rooms which was next to the pool, we turned on the air conditioner because the room was so hot and humid and the air conditioner just continually squealed. So we went to pick up the phone to call the front desk and the phone didn't even work! So we went to the front desk to see if we could change rooms and asked a different lady at the desk if we could be put on the same floor as our friends and miraculously we were put right next door. The next day we went to the pool and there were absolutely no towels down there except all dirty ones, this was on Saturday a.m. And the bathroom in the pool area was disgusting. After the pool I decided to shower and our tub was barely draining and the floor of it was slimy probably from the last hotel guest that used it and the staff never cleaned it. Being a casino that holds events in the event center you would think they would be prepared especially since this is not the first time the karaoke finals have been held there, the bar was not set up and they had no idea when it would be so we had to walk all the way from the event center to the casino bar to get a drink. And when they did finally get it set up they charged $1 more for mixed drinks than the bar in the casino did. And to top it off they asked we don't use the casino bar anymore, We asked for clamato juice for our beer and the staff said "do you really want it? Because we don't have any here and will have to walk to the casino bar to get it." Our keys needed to be re-keyed 5 times, and the front desk informed us that when we were checked in they didn't put us in for 2 nights so the keys automatically quit working after the 1st day..which confuses me because they had no problem charging us for 2 nights when we checked in. We went to the casino bar and there was a sign that said bud light was on special for $2.50, yet they were charging $3.50. We sat down at a table at the bar and waited for the only waitress to come get our drink orders and after 5 mins we gave up and left. The main bathroom that all the patrons at the event used had no toilet paper or paper towels and someone's feces were smeared on the floor and the toilet. So Sunday morning before we checked out we went to the pool and still no towels 24 hours later, bathroom still hasn't been cleaned. They say there is free wi-fi and yet you need a password which was not posted anywhere. The manager also said they would try to get some kind of comp for us and yet they gave us nothing. The staff is rude and not helpful. Needless to say this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, so do not waste your money on this dump! We did go down the street to eat and drink at Charlie's and had an awesome time there.

Caveat: I live in California with access to some really nice casinos so I'm a bit jaded. The casino has a good assortment of slots but many are very, very old, and the odds are rather tight. All in all, a reasonably fun place to visit when in Walker, Minnesota.

The 3 casinos are probably the worst around. The security personal at Northern Lights are top notch. But if your skin isn't the right color forget it you get nothing. The Palace is smokey and dirty. The last time I was there, there was a fight on the floor. Not a place to go.

Unfortunately they had a water main break and had no water just as our bus arrived. We had to be moved (but thankfully we had a wonderful stay at the Country Inn Walker) and shuttled back and forth.
