Great place to ski so close to the Metro area something for everyone. No, its not Colorado skiing but a great alternative. Staff was very helpful & accommodating. Things that I liked beyond the hills were the parking, ski chalet & family accommodations.

Went here recently with my dad for a fun ski day. They offer some very great deals on their website. The trails might not be as challenging or steep as other courses, but there was enough variety in number of trails and level of difficulty to keep me interested (my dad, who is more experienced, was trying the moguls, and would've liked to try the slalom run, too). Their rental equipment was in good condition. Lots of room on the trails, probably because we went in the middle of the week. Food is expensive, but good.

Wild Mountain is our favorite Twin Cities ski are for a few reasons. The mix of terrain with fast & steep trails, easy riders, trick park and woods skiing make for a day of fun for all abilities. The best part of it all though? The staff is lovely. Great customer care with humor and follow through. Today we managed to leave our son's skis and Delanie went and found them for us. We'll go pick them up next weekend and bring a bunch of friends for tubing. So much fun to spend a day at Wild!

Since 1972 Wild Mountain has been family owned & operated. Located just a few miles north of Taylor's Falls MN & overlooking the St Croix River Valley in a spectacular scenery setting. Wild Mt. is a great resort for families. The ski & snowboard terrain is a mixture where no matter what the ability of the skier or snowboarder one should never become bored. Wild Mt. offers an excellent friendly teaching staff, excellent terrain, snow-making and snow-grooming. Just north of Minneapolis & St. Paul it's worth spending your skiing days here. Wild Mountain maintains a tradition of being the first ski area in the metro area to open as well as having a top notch staff of customer service people to ski & snowboard instructors. Instruction on skiing & snowboard is a rewarding experience for all experience levels. Parking is ample and most of the rental gear is new.

Great fun tubing down the hill. One of the best times for winter fun without skiing or skating. The kids will always have a blast and it's easy to get to and simple to enjoy.

My wife and I took our three daughters to Wild Mountain for a Sunday of skiing 2/17/2014.Our daughters 9,7 and 4 years of age had never skied before. At the suggestion of the one of the workers at Wild Mountain we signed our girls up for an hour lesson for each of the girls for $14.97 each. That was the best $45.00 spent. The classes had two instructors each for 6 kids. My wife and I went and skied for 50 minutes. We returned to find our girls went from no skills to being able to ski on their own during the lessons. Our 9 and 7 year olds were able to hit the ski lifts and called the Sunshine Run their favorite. Our 4 year old liked the Magic Carpet lift and we stayed on the little bunny hill for her. We skied for 6 hours straight. It was a great day and we are very pleased we signed up for the lessons.Everyone was asleep by 8:15 pm last night. We will be returning to Wild Mountain!

I have always enjoyed going to Wild Mt and I will drive hours out of my way (even if there is a much closer facility) because I not only enjoy the slopes but they always have friendly staff and amazing views! After I purchased a 100% electric vehicle I wasn't sure if I could make it there and back. After emailing them they were more than happy to accommodate me and allowed me to charge my car (for free!) while I was there. I plan on being back at least a few more times from the twin cities before the snow is gone and already making plans to be there this summer as well!

Season passes were the best investment of the year for our family. With 2 very active boys, they can get all their energy out while having a blast on the hills and terrain park in the winter and on the slides and go carts in the summer. My joined D-Team for snowboarding this year. Such wonderful coaches and helpful staff make Wild Mountain a great place for all ages to spend the day. I personally love the bread bowl chili while warming up in the chalet...

Our family has been skiing at Wild Mountain for over 5 seasons now. We return every year because of the friendly family atmosphere, their great snow making capabilities that extend the season on both ends, and the incredibly knowledgeable staff and coaches. Our kids have been progressing through their D-Team (Development Program) Alpine team and have loved their coaches. The families involved with the D-Team are now close friends and our kids love spending their Saturday's, outside enjoying winter on the slopes of Wild Mountain. We are so fortunate to have such a well run ski area within an hours drive.

Skied a 1ft of untouched powder on edges where Afton would have a fence up! And you can get a lift ticket here without giving up your private info. I just wanted to buy a lift ticket and ski!!Wild Mountain's run "THE WALL" is the single best run in MN. Because double black diamonds are a boy's best friend!!! Plus the management here is a real family and not a soulless corporation!!! Top to bottom this is a top notch ski area!!!

Why should anyone pay $43 to ski the handful of runs here when Afton gives 10 bucks off each visit after you get the free lift card that you carry inside your jacket? I'll go here when I want some peace and quiet, but half the time they aren't even running all the lifts!

On 1-19-14 we had over 60 of our Ayusa foreign exchange students visit Wild Chutes at Wild Mountain. It was one of the few nice days that we have had here in Minnesota lol. The weather was nice and Wild Mountain was very busy. Our students and host families all loved the snow tubing. The staff at Wild Chutes where very friendly and made us feel at home. Thank you to all of the staff, Ayusa will be back, Thank you for a great day :)

Dear Kim M,I'm sorry to hear about your son's experience. Any gift cards that we sell do not ever expire. We do donate about $5,000 worth of gift certificates every year to various raffles and silent auctions. These we do put an expiration date, 18 months after the event. We need to do this for our accounting or we would have to limit how many gift certificates we donate. We do not ever sell any gift certificates. I'm sorry that your son was unable to use the gift certificate prior to the expiration date.Sincerely,Amy R. Frischmon

I learned to ski here. The ski runs are short but offer good challenges. They make snow to open early in the winter. Right before Christmas I skied corduroy with very few people around. It was beautiful skiing. You wouldn't think that such short runs would be that much fun. I ski Montana mostly now but this is a nice place with good people running it. So you make four runs to equal one run out west. It's still good skiing.
