I'm a Canadian hockey fan, so while staying in Eveleth for skiing, I made sure I stopped by the museum. It is a nice small interesting place. Lots to learn and see. Make it a point to spend an hour looking around and shooting some pucks. Well worth it for the history.

This is an interesting hockey museum, but it is not necessarily centered around the NHL. Not being a hockey fan, I was a little disappointed in the exhibits, but it was still an interesting stop. There used to be a Holiday Inn at the base of the hill in front of the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame that had great photos of many NHL all stars in their restaurant and lobby. That hotel has been closed for several years. The U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame did not live up to my expectations, but I would leave it up to more discerning hockey fans as to the value of this place.

This was a bonus stop on our vacation - we hadn't planned on going but saw the signs. We were happy we stopped. There is a lot here to see. It is strictly the US Hall of Fame so some names you know from hockey might not be here. The display on Herb Brooks is great. While you are in the area, go see the Big Stick!

Being a lifelong hockey fan and player - and an American - I just had to make a pilgrimage from Atlanta to see this place. To get here, you have to REALLY want to get here - it's over an hour away from Duluth on U.S. 53, a lonely stretch of road that leads you right smack into the legendary Mesabi iron Range, birthplace of many of the NHL's best American players for over 70 years. It is almost a miniature of the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto, but more "up close" and "personal". I was the only one there. The staff was fantastic and the exhibits will knock your eyes out. Memorabilia from the NHL, the Olympics, the "Mighty Ducks" movie, the WHA, NCAAA and other leagues is there, as well as a couple of nets where you can take shots and see how fast they are - boy, have I lost a couple of MPH on my slapper!!!! This is a "must see" and worth the ride - I traveled all the way from Atlanta to see it and it was money well spent. Only $8 to get in. The gift shop is small but has some great Tees, sweats, hoodies and jerseys, if a tad bit more than you would pay at the Mall of America. If you do go, make sure you go into the town of Eveleth and see the largest hockey stick in the world and if the guys are working on the park, talk hockey with them - they are great guys and have some great stories about guys you've heard of. Also, stop by the Hippodrome Ice Rink right down the street and gaze at the photos of all the NHLers who hailed from the town and played at the rink. If you want to see what American small-town hockey is really about, you need to visit Eveleth. BTW, did I say the people in this town are amazing!!!!

They really didn't have much for USA teams or players just a lot of Minnesota hockey great museum though very fun inside. Lots of information and a great gift shop.

Fun and motivational but this museum is almost entirely geared toward MN hockey only. Don't get me wrong, you can see a great deal of hard work was put into it. I appreciate the effort but for being the "national " Hall of Fame it lacked any NHL meaningful events. The honey pot of this whole collection is a few Olympic things from 1980 . And an entire room of "art work " looks more like filler. I do praise them for making it very kid friendly which is really cool. Lots of physical activities for them.It is very clean and well cared for but the building is in serious need of updating. I would love to see this place do great financially but (unfortunately ) the location is holding it back. If it was located in Minneapolis it could support way more rare/valuable items. It should be named the Minnesota Hockey Hall of Fame.... Not USA HOF...Great place to learn the history of hockey in general but don't expect any "wow" factors ...

The Herb Brooks wing! All the old equipment displayed and the section about the Women's hockey. Never realized hockey was that old, really a must see!

Well worth the stop! Brought the whole girls 10U hockey team here while in the area for a tournament. The girls and parents all enjoyed the history, interactive exhibits, and it may have even inspired them a bit on the ice afterwards. Thank you USA Hockey for the first class effort!

Our team stopped in between games and had a lot of fun. The slap shot speedometer was a hit. If you like hockey and you're in the area, it should be something that is crossed off your list.

Very nicely done. Covers the history of hockey very well. Covers both professional and amateur teams and players.

My wife and I stopped in while we were in the area, and we enjoyed it. Both of us enjoy watching hockey, but neither of us are rabid hockey fans. Even for casual fans like us, though, it was worth a visit. You can try your hand at shooting a puck, watch some documentary films, or just enjoy the exhibits. A note of caution before you go. The road in front of the hall is currently under construction (Sept. 2012), and if there are any detour signs directing you to the hall, we didn't see them. So, if you're not especially familiar with the area, you might want to call ahead for directions. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I don't know that I would drive cross country just to come to the hall, but if you're in the area, it's definitely worth a look. And you can take in the World's Largest Hockey Stick just down the road.

The U.S. Hockey hall of fame is definately worth the visit. Awesome displays, cool history, interactive stuff for kids. I have been coming since I was 8. This place keeps me fascinated with new exhibits and fresh details. Come on! Lemieux, Gretzky, Orr, Hull, Richard...many more. Classy place!

You need to stop here. But if it were not for the 1980 Olympics game with the Soviets, there would not be as much to look at here. The movie is here and so is original TV coverage. And info on Herb Brooks and his untimely death. Info on inductees, etc. Some history which was interesting. Fee was $7 for seniors.

Very good place to see the history of hockey in the United States. Numerous displays of the "Miracle on Ice", as well as various pieces of hockey equipment through the decades. I really liked the old Zamboni that is on display right when you enter the main room. The scoreboard from "The Mighty Ducks" was also cool to see.
