If you are driving up Hwy 61 in search of waterfalls and hiking, be sure to stop at the Caribou Falls Wayside. The half-mile hike is fairly easy and the stairs down to the base of the beautiful waterfall aren't that bad. The view at the bottom is spectacular!!!

One of the activities directors at Bluefin Bay told us about the falls, as there is no sign on Highway 61 other than the Caribou River sign. There is a parking lot near the river, and a sign in the parking lot indicates the falls are a half mile hike. It is an easy hike and when you get close to the falls, there is a series of wooden steps down to the water. Gorgeous falls and well worth the hike (even back UP the stairs!)

This was a hike that a friend and I had been planning for months as a finale to a new healthier life-style - hike is considered an easy trail - it was breath-taking in many spots! Don't miss it if you are able to climb LOTS of stairs and love a beautiful view....
