lakeside park

This park is located right on the beautiful St. Croix River. First, there is a nice swimming beach which usually isn't as busy as others I have been too. There is a very large park for the kids to play at. There are tons of picnic tables and outdoor grills including at least 2 covered pavilions. Finally, there is a nice building which I believe you can rent out that overlooks the river and would be great for a kids birthday party. There are also bathrooms on site. My daughter and I were here yesterday to go swimming one more time before the end of summer but we have also driven here just to go to the park. The drive to Bayport is located on of Minnesota's scenic byways. If you go one direction you can take the scenic byway to Afton and down to Prescott Wisconsin...if you go the other direction you can follow it to Stillwater and then to Taylors Falls ultimately. I recommend eating at Woody's Bar and Grill if you're hungry, which you'll drive right past when you go to the park
