Have played both the East and West course many times. Both courses are always in excellent shape. For being a public county course, mercer oaks ranks up there with some of the best public courses in the state. Nice little bar and restaurant to order food or drinks before, during, or after your round too.

For a public course it's a darn good layout (both courses). Be prepared for a long round though. 5 hours is very typical.

Played the east course on July ten.Course is in good condition with wide fairways, lots of bunkers and undulating fast greens.Only drawback was a very slow foursome that we finally passed at hole 16!

I would not recommend this golf course. While the course itself is pretty nice, the staff is not. I went on a Saturday in July with a foursome that was a little new to golf. Naturally, we were playing a little bit slowly; however, we didn't slow down the group behind us at all and we offered to let them pass if they'd like. As we entered the back 9, one of the staff came up to us and told us we were playing very slowly. We knew we were, and we told him that we were a little new to golf. His response was appalling: "This is a county course, and we have standards here. If you are having a tough time out there, then feel free to take up bowling instead." Instead of playing the back nine under pressure, we just played the front nine twice and got out of there. I won't be going back.

Always have a great time when we play this course. I'm a senior and hit from the senior tees on the East Course. I can be competitive from there more so then some other courses. The course is always well maintained.

Went with friends, we took our time playing. Some of the foursomes were very spoiled and rude the day we went. We haven't been back. I guess they don't like women golfers....

You have a choice of two golf courses..the East and the West and after a round of golf, there is better place to share a drink or meal with your friends...with views of a lake..just great atmosphere. The club house is good for parties too...we have been for quite a few High School dinner events. Definitely worth visiting,The golf courses are well maintained and tee time booking can be done by phone or internet (I think internet booking is for Mercer County residents)

In addition to a wonderful location with a great golf course that is cost effective - there is is beautiful site to host events at - great food - service - a best kept secret!

This is the best of the Mercer County courses. The tee time system leaves a great deal to be desired.

Was only here for a bridal shower, but it was so lovely! Food was fabulous and plentiful. Service was friendly and helpful. Would try it again if we were ever in the area

County course, so residents get the best rates, but it is not too expensive at the guest rates. Nice clubhouse for the 19th hole!

I'm a 10 handicap, live locally and play here 15-20 times a year. The place has 2, 18 hole courses. The West course is older and is built in the parkland style. Fairly flat and easily walkable with a few challenging holes. The 17th is it's signature hole, a true par 4 wrapping around beautiful Lake Mercer. The East course in contrast is built in the wide open links style. On a windy day, it can be very challenging. On a calm day, it's exposed for a birdie attack. Since both courses are relatively flat, weekend tee times almost guarantee a 5+ hour round because you must trudge behind foursome after foursome of old people out to get their exercise with a way too generous (IMHO) senior discount rate. Play on a weekday and you can generally walk-on with little wait time for a single. Anything more than a single definitely requires a reserved tee time, any day. Bunkers are sometimes raked daily and the pro shop staff is composed entirely of grumpy old retired men. The pro is nice but hardly seen unless you are at an official outing. There are many, many more challenging public tracks within an hours drive of these courses. (Check out Makefield Highlands just across the river in PA for instance if you're looking for a challenge) But if you just need to get out and bang it around a bit, this fits the bill and won't disappoint an average golfer at all. A modest range with natural grass(!) and 2 chipping/putting greens are nice to practice and warm up on.
