This was actually pretty interesting. We were in the area, & the golf enthusiast wanted to check it out. He found it to be well worth the trip, even in the ice storm. And even though golf isn't my thing, it did hold my interest. The place isn't large, but the exhibits are interesting. Worth it.

A diamond in the rough........(get it?) But really, once you find this place, you are delighted to be here. The Museum is done very well with exhibits, videos and lots of information that will allow you to impress your buddies as you chase the little mottled white ball. Very worthwhile to visit even if you are not a golf enthusiast. (But why aren't you?) Fantastic trophy room and the surrounding grounds are nothing short of spectacular.

Me and my wife went here while in the area as she was a great sport throughout the entire experience. The property is impressive and you wouldn't believe the amount of workers that filled the parking lots. We first were greeted by the woman at the main desk as she immediately set us up on the putting green. We had the entire surface to ourselves and had an absolute blast using the historic putters that the legends used. Well worth the $5. Then we made our way through the museum. After strolling from exhibit to exhibit we were enamored with the history behind the lives and feats of Hogan, The Golden Bear, Palmer, and Bobby Jones. The trophy room was incredible as well as my wife even enjoyed watching the videos from the 1930's. we wish we were around for the research center demonstration but that will be saved for the next visit. The only thing that bummed me out were the prices for the replica putters ($160 - $270) each...please reduce price...haha. Great experience and wonderful way to salute the game of golf.

Excellent exhibits and videos on the great players, events, and history of the game. We learned so much. As with many places there wasn't time to see everything. We would like to visit again and next time we'll participate in the Pynes Putting Course where visitors putt on a large green behind the museum with replica antique clubs and balls.The addresses in the area were renumbered. Some GPS databases (portable and online) will show their location about 5000' north of I-287 on Rt 512/Liberty Corner Rd but the correct location is about 3000' south of I-287. Google Maps shows the correct location.

The museum was fantastic. Besides the the highlighted exhibit on the African-American history in golf there is the Arnold Palmer room and the Mickey Wright room filled with many, many artifacts from their careers. Awesome to see all the trophies from the U.S. Opens Professional and Amateur. I would like to have more time there. It is worth a trip!

I am an avid golfer and always wanted to tour this museum. It was more than I expected. There are several rooms that are well laid out with the history, photos and other memorabilia of the game of golf. The Arnold Palmer room is excellent. This is a real classy operation and the staff that was on duty when I toured were exceptionally helpful. I highly recommend this as a stop for both golfers and non-golfers alike.

My husband and I enjoyed our afternoon at the USGA museum. He is an avid golfer and I recently took up the game. There are rooms honoring the greats - Bobby Jones, Ben Hogan, Arnold Palmer, Mickey Wright and in 2015, Jack Nickalaus. My husband's favorite was the trophy room. There are several rooms that tell the history of golf in the US and have plenty of old equipment. Be sure to visit the putting green outside. We were given replica balls and clubs from the early 1900s and sent out to play 9 holes on a well manicured, hilly green. It is much harder than one would expect. Even non-golfers will enjoy this museum.

Stately brick buildings in the hills of Far Hills NJ are the perfect setting for this neatly arraigned museum. There is lots of history shown in photos, film footage and displays of equipment and dress. There are rooms featuring Ben Hogan, Bobby Jones and Arnold Palmer and soon to be added a Jack Nicklaus room. While at the museum arrange a tour of the adjacent research center where you’ll see how golf equipment and golf balls are tested to assure they conform to the USGA regulations. There is also a putting course behind the museum building with putters provided at the reception desk. The grounds are beautiful with stately trees and manicured lawns. It’s a bit out of the way but worth the trip especially if you’re a golfer or have an interest in sports history.

We stopped by the Golf House Museum on our way to New York after we noticed an advertising sign on the Interstate. My husband is a golfer, so the kids and I went along but enjoyed it as well. The grounds of the museum are lovely, with huge trees and a fountain. The museum is made up of several rooms and a chronological display. The first thing we say was the Aaron Palmer portrait called "Gratitude" which took 14 years to make and is made up entirely of words. It's amazing! There is also a room designed for Ben Hogan memorabilia. My teenagers particularly enjoyed seeing the Moon Club that hit the golf ball on the Moon. There is also an executive putting green that was fun. Overall, I would highly recommend a few hours at this museum. (The test center is only open on the weekdays, so we were unable to see that but heard it was also quite good). Also, just an FYI: this museum is free for active duty military and families.

Although I don't golf, I found this museum quite educational. Lots of history about how the first ball was invented and produced, information about the stars of golf ball and much, more. On lovely grounds.

Spent an afternoon here with the family when visitors came for a week. Dad and Sis are avid golfers, but all the rest of us enjoyed the museum as well. The guided tour of the test center was interesting. Make sure to use the replica putters and play the little putting course! A nice afternoon out.

Worth a stop over - it's off the beaten path but if you're a die-hard fan of the game it's a great view of history.

I want to return when I have more time. I particularly want to see the equipment testing facility. The trophies on display, the interactive videos, and the old equipment are all interesting.

This museum is located in a beautiful house and it contains every bit of golf history you could ever want and we are not eve golfers! The history, the artifacts, the trophies....they tell the history of golf from its inception until now. If you are golf fan, you will just be in heaven I'm sure. When you are finished inside, take the outside tour and see how they test and rate golf balls with their special testing "robot." This piece of the tour is a must.This is one of those hidden treasures that when you do find, you wonder why you didn't go sooner!
