Just traveling down Rt. 80 for the first time looking for Rusty's RV park when the elevation began to rise and the road steepened. The mountains closed in on the road from both sides. As we reached the apex it was like tunnel vision for 100 yds. or so when suddenly the mountains withdrew presenting us with a vast panorama of the valley so stunning I tugged the big Bounder off the road while we just sat and looked We went back several times and took pictures but they did not catch the beauty and spectacle of the view.

Its the pass. 15 miles south of I-10 on Highway 80 Granite Pass opens the San Simon Valley to a picture perfect view. In the far distance is the Chiricahua Mountains and Portal AZ. Many many people who now live in this valley were sold when they came through Granite Pass.
