This was fantastic! Andrew was my pilot and we had an awesome time. We went up to 11,000 feet and glided all over the area. Was the best and wildest thing I've done in a long time! Go on and enjoy your trip up in the clouds!

Before booking my glider flight, I read the tripadvisor reviews. Since every reviewer gave Sundance Aviation five stars, my expectations were high. When I got to Sundance Aviation, I was so disappointed with the customer service. Upon arrival, nobody greeted me. I wandered into the hanger and into the office. I took a seat and waited for my flight. It was a holiday weekend and they were running thirty minutes behind schedule. As workers would wander in and out of the office, they hardly acknowledged me. When it was time for my flight, the pre-flight orientation was minimal. I was shown how to open the Plexiglas canopy and where the airsickness bad was located. There was no discussion of emergency procedures, which could made many passengers uneasy.Despite the rough start, I had a wonderful flight experience. I sat in the front of the glider, with the pilot, Bill, behind me. Bill was very skilled in catching thermals and was able to gain impressive lift. Since the passenger-cockpit control stick had not been removed, Bill encouraged me to try out flying the glider. What a spectacular view! I also really enjoyed the landing and, again, I was impressed with Bill's skill. If you do go, remember that the Plexiglas canopy which blocks the wind is warmed by greenhouse effect, so it can be quite warm in the cockpit. Also, remember to bring your camera. I left my camera on the ground and I wish I had brought it with me. Finally, if you are susceptible to motion sickness, try looking at distant vistas instead of nearby objects, like the altimeter. I highly recommend the experience and would go again. Given the customer service issues, I just can't give them the highest rating.

First thing to know: take sunscreen (I ended up looking like a raccoon the next day). Second thing to do: have a great time. From Rick the owner, to the curmudgeonly Steve, to the rest of the folks this is a class act. Don't forget to say hello to Ella.My daughter, son-in-law and I headed out from Albuquerque about an hour before our flights and got there in plenty of time. Rick took me up and he found some really great thermals. The tight spin as we climbed was fantastic, it almost seemed as if we were spinning on the axis of the wing. Rick took me out over the mesa for what seemed like miles in each direction chasing thermals. We also 'buzzed' the corn maze - if you can do the in a plane without an engine. If you've done a hot air balloon ride then gliding will totally blow you away. If you haven't done the hot air balloon thing skip it and go gliding.

The pilots and staff are some the most experienced in the glider industry! The flight was a ton of fun even though at times somewhat nerve racking! The owner/pilot ensured me in a calm voice that the flight would be a fun and exciting one. WILL GO AGAIN FOR SURE!!!

This was a trip of a lifetime! Got to sit in the front of the glider - the pilot was great - caught a lot of thermals and soared to 11,000 feet! What a view! Fantastic!
